Exactly , I always liked subarus for the awd systems which made them pretty damn good , but a rear wheel drive rebadged scion ? Lol forget it , complete waste of money , I know the scion uses really thin tires from the Prius just to make it more slippery.. I thinks that’s over doing it , if your not sure the tails gonna go out then add some more power , maybe a bigger engine ?

^^ I’m no expert or anything but I’m pretty sure there calling it the gt-86 cuz that’s what it’s called in Japan. It’s the new ae-86. It’s a drift car. An 86 isn’t suppose to have a giant engine. It encourages a aggressive driving style to drift it. Idk why Subaru got involved but ya if you want a fast car buy a sti or something.

Why shell out the money for that car when you could go a class lower with more stability,cheaper, and more horsepower. You could spend the extra money left over on aero and horses.

Honestly I don’t like this car or the idea to try and rebuild and reconstruct the AE86 I mean it might just be because I like them old, like my 1985 Toyota corolla GTS AE86

their all the same chassis. it’s a nice rwd car. it’ll basically be the next 240sx in about 15 years and there’s nothing wrong with that. finally producing some fun cars instead of boring fwd boxes that people can afford again like the 90s

Unfortunately, whatever it looks like and whatever the engine choice, it will suffer from everything all new cars do: too big, too heavy, too expensive. So pretty much nothing like the JZZ30 Soarer/SC that we knew and loved.
