solomon_eightyfive 30 May, 2017 at 15:50 Reply Weren’t you just getting on @driftidiot about old hoses? just playing. Looking forward to seeing what you do for a new motor
blakfingr 30 May, 2017 at 15:57 Reply I am In LA and looking for a legit shop to do some performance and longevity mods on my titan. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
the_real_legg 30 May, 2017 at 16:02 Reply Just goes to show how stout ka24de really is, everyone calls them trash but 8 years on stock block getting abused, and it only let go because of a coolant hose blowing, probably would have lasted much longer
cool_it_bob 30 May, 2017 at 16:05 Reply After taking a picture with you, sorry I caught you at a bad time, but I did see your coolant spray up a foot and a half above your block at ECB, to the best of luck on your next motor. 🏽
skunksystems 30 May, 2017 at 16:09 Reply dam thats dope I don’t think I’ve ever owned one of my cars for eight years
phutch27 30 May, 2017 at 16:17 Reply There is a lot of unnecessary coolant hoses under intake.. I wish i deleted them when i had the chance for this very reason
iproton 30 May, 2017 at 16:18 Reply Silicone this time round? Not sure if they can do coolant though.
hingwa_moy 30 May, 2017 at 16:19 Reply Are you sticking with the KA or switching to a different motor?
dirtyfoxmissle 30 May, 2017 at 16:29 Reply this guy has the engine out of his missle car the day after a grassroots event, fuckin love it @chrisforsberg64
chrisforsberg64 30 May, 2017 at 16:29 Reply @wyattg_23 good computer, good tune, good fuel, conservative power (300rwhp).
chrisforsberg64 30 May, 2017 at 16:30 Reply @the_real_legg definitely, it even makes good compression on all cylinders so the block is in good shape!
chrisforsberg64 30 May, 2017 at 16:32 Reply @phutch27 I already had one let go 3 years back… this one was the shortly 5/8″ heater hose junction by the knock sensor.
chrisforsberg64 30 May, 2017 at 16:33 Reply @iproton there are aftermarket hoses that you can get which is what I will be doing. No old factory ones!
the_real_legg 30 May, 2017 at 16:36 Reply Haha sweet, makes me even more excited for my fully built ka build im doing rn, can’t wait to be busting on sr’s in my “inferior truck” engine as some say
boris_diamond 30 May, 2017 at 16:36 Reply Wait so is the KA an N/A motor that you slap a turbo on and it can take 300whp all day?
chrisforsberg64 30 May, 2017 at 16:39 Reply @gay_andy right!?!? Same engine. I’m half tempted to do a headgasket and clean up the head but it’s definitely nearing the end without a full rebuild.
tylerthetiger 30 May, 2017 at 16:49 Reply hey man! just curious was the bottom end forged or did it last that llong stock??
iproton 30 May, 2017 at 16:55 Reply @chrisforsberg64 I was asking cause I am curious myself. I need to swap my hoses all around, figured you’d point me in the right direction about the materials, cause changing them every few years doesn’t sound very fun to me.
asamaan 30 May, 2017 at 17:08 Reply @chrisforsberg64 Looks like 350z trans? Did you build an adapter?
nismos13.5 30 May, 2017 at 17:09 Reply @chrisforsberg64 I just had the same problem on my rb25 except luckily it was just a pinhole in one of those same under the intake coolant lines and I smelt the coolant so wasn’t fatal.. still had the Nissan emblem on the hose.. it’s funny how much stuff like that is over looked
aeast88 30 May, 2017 at 17:09 Reply @coreyhosford you love staring at a transmission beside your car 😙
boris_diamond 30 May, 2017 at 17:17 Reply @chrisforsberg64 no way, what specs were you running? Fully stock motor??
nathanbeake 30 May, 2017 at 17:36 Reply @chrisforsberg64 could you elaborate on what injectors, computer etc you run. I know it’s a DOC manifold. Mishi oil cooler and other cooling components. I remember the old walk around video you made for it but wondering if we could get more details. Maybe a garage day video with you where you get real technical on your builds. Get @donutmedia on the case? C’mooooooooonnnnnnn
the_real_legg 30 May, 2017 at 17:40 Reply Yeah, stock motor, he has a vid of it on youtube @boris_diamond
kambarinyodo 30 May, 2017 at 17:42 Reply @chrisforsberg64 will you be attending Gridlife Midwest? Hoping to talk to you about this car as I’m in the process of putting together a KAT!
vinsquill 30 May, 2017 at 17:52 Reply Are you on standalone ecu or a chipped stock ecu? Ka-t allllllll day
ccedrift 30 May, 2017 at 18:03 Reply Fun doing tandem with this car @chrisforsberg64 hope to drive with you soon.
connerhelms 30 May, 2017 at 18:20 Reply Nooo! That blows man. Saw the video you made on this car and how sick it is a while back. KA-T killin it
chaz.82 30 May, 2017 at 18:30 Reply @chrisforsberg64 how much hp can you push on a ka with it still being reliable ?
mikey_whites13 30 May, 2017 at 18:46 Reply @chrisforsberg64 do videos on it if you can ka life’s matter
denver.not.dallas 30 May, 2017 at 18:49 Reply My stock ka mani broke off at the nipple where it goes through the manifold, someone must of been putting well water in the car.
denver.not.dallas 30 May, 2017 at 18:56 Reply When ever someone blast the ka I bring up this car, From what I can tell most ka failures were doomed from the start (low comp, old hg) or wasn’t on a standalone.
terrance.99 30 May, 2017 at 19:36 Reply wait have you ever rebuilt the motor in those eight yars or has it been running for 8 years straight with no rebuilds
