mastermattynw 16 October, 2014 at 05:01 Reply So I’m confused.. Aren’t the Mazda motors actually “wankel” and rotary motors are what older planes used? @madmike_drift
nickstickb 16 October, 2014 at 05:15 Reply @mastermattynw maybe you’re confusing them with radial engines that planes used to (maybe they still do) run. Rotary and wankel are the same style of engine
mastermattynw 16 October, 2014 at 05:16 Reply Gotcha, always heard them called rotary so always been confused because they definitely came first. @nickstickb
rotaryfeen_13b 16 October, 2014 at 05:47 Reply @mastermattynw i know ur question was answered but i wanted to put my two cents so rotary is a type of engine used in aircrafts automobiles and boats as far as i know ummm also wankel is the man who put the rotary engine into a car therefore the name wankel is commonly used more out of respect for the mad man who made it possible:) (wankel was used untill the rx8 a.k.a. renesis) but the rotary engine is based on an old bi plane i believe was a 787 but i might be a little off
