Just because there is a VQ IM in a pic in the RMR shop doesn't mean that the Hyundai Drift car is going to have a VQ engine in it. You guys do know that they have work on all different types of cars in their shop right?Originally posted by blaze1 View PostThat has to be a VQ many, but who the hell cares anyway. A proven motor is a proven motor. And FD does not have any rules on that.
Someone has already confirmed that the engine used in the video is a Hyundai engine... also why would RMR risk pissing Hyundai off by putting in a competitor motor in their new Genesis Coupe? What would it say about the Genesis Coupe if they put an engine in from a car that directly competes against it? It doesn't make sense at all... and besides someone has already confirmed that the engine used in the car for the video was indeed a Hyundai engine.Originally posted by YOitzJDM View Postif someone, say, a vendor, shipped parts to RMR for a motor, they'd know what type of part they shipped. But if Rhys / Vendor / etc asked all those involved in the transaction to keep the situation hush hush to avoid making people mad, say, Hyundai, then this type of situation would arise where SOME people KNOW it's NOT a "Hyundai Lambda" engine, while Hyundai's official press release would say otherwise
of course, this is all circumstance.
The ultimate tell-all will be when the hood gets popped.
Who knows, they might have used a different motor to film the video for now while they develop the actual motor.
Exactly Rhys wouldn't put a VQ in the car and no auto manufacture would accept such a thing. Unless someone posts some proof that a VQ the engine being used, the RMR Redbull Hyundai Genesis is using the Hyundai Lambda V6. Incidental parts in a picture and a vague statement like, "The folks that told me said not to say who they were is all." is not going to cut it.Originally posted by Justin Banner View PostWell, (unless the Lambda is actually a VQ) he is sponsored by Hyundai, so why would a VQ be in a car that is built AND sponsored by Hyundai?
