    86 arent really cheap, stock rusted pos 18 year old cars go from 2000-4000

    wow I wish this forum was here last week

    but anyways, I've noticed that THE most common n00b question has been "what car should I get" and I have a feeling that most people mean "I want such and such a car and I want you guys to share your genius knowledge to me about it" or something or other.
    anyways, I'll attempt to share my limited knowledge about some cars I've thought about drifting (in simple terms )

    Toyota Trueno AE86
    price: cheap-medium
    HP: low
    weight: light
    suspension: solid axle

    Toyota Supra MkIII
    price: medium
    HP: medium (NA) / high (Turbo)
    weight: medium
    suspension: IRS

    Toyota Supra MkIV
    price: expensive
    HP: high
    weight: heavy
    suspension: IRS

    Toyota Celica 3rd gen.
    price: cheap
    HP: low
    weight: medium (low?)
    suspension: solid axle (correct me if I'm wrong)

    Toyota MR2
    price: cheap (1st gen) / medium (2nd gen)
    HP: low (NA) / high (Turbo/supercharged)
    weight: low
    suspension: IRS
    *mid-engine = tail likes to hang out longer

    Nissan 240SX S13
    price: cheap
    HP: medium (KA24)
    weight: light
    suspension: IRS

    Nissan 240SX S14

    a few more things:
    light weight > high HP
    solid axle > IRS (independent rear suspension) (in general, for drifting purposes)
    LSD: very important
