t.cord 8 April, 2018 at 19:48 Reply I could see him coming back and doing well once he gets his car a bit more settled. Car DID look really good.
morganoglass 8 April, 2018 at 19:48 Reply Good thing he wasn’t stuck inside cause he wouldn’t of been okay after waiting all that time for the SLEEPY TEAM to show up and put the car fire out… that response time was pitiful.
kenzingten_prime 8 April, 2018 at 19:49 Reply Ok @formulad are you responsible for fire crew or ambulance crew track aids? Or is that something that track advisor like who ever runs event that not fd cause it’s whole race track and you guys only get a small part of it. Right? Not the whole thing?
litassalvaro 8 April, 2018 at 19:59 Reply Crazy first Ferrari in fd and it gets hurt but its coming back stronger🏻
boondokz 8 April, 2018 at 20:15 Reply That’s what happens when you try to drift a car that wasn’t designed to be sideways.
nikomarkovich 8 April, 2018 at 20:16 Reply The lack of urgency was unacceptable during his incident. Hopefully this will be a learned lesson for you guys.
ranger.zz 8 April, 2018 at 20:43 Reply The fact that it took almost a minute until any action was taken against the fire in the Ferrari is so ridiculous I’m so glad no one was injured but I hope now you will be more cautious and equip everyone with a fire extinguisher
carlitos423 8 April, 2018 at 20:43 Reply How about “we are looking to improve fire response protocols”
authorized_whiteboy 8 April, 2018 at 20:45 Reply Just sad to see not much care went into car… it took so long to get the fire out
typhoonace 8 April, 2018 at 20:47 Reply Hope you guys are putting in an investigation into who is responsible for safety and Marshall support, very poor show with response times and safety equipment, half those firefighters had short sleeve shirts on 😑😑😑 #firetheinterns
the_nissan_initiative 8 April, 2018 at 20:51 Reply where can I get this pic full size??? would love to make this my phones background @formulad
federicosceriffo17 8 April, 2018 at 20:59 Reply Thank you for doing all you could to get me and my car in safety. Such tragic accidents are never expected. Everything can be improved, everywhere, in any kind of Motorsport, that’s why we professional Motorsport people always work very hard to improve our sports and safety everyday . I feel that @formulad it is a safe and very well organized Drift Championship. I am proud and glad to be part of it. @fffdrifting_department with Fiorella will be back soon and ready to continue our job. We Never Give Up ! Thank you 🏻 Fede17
extreme_drifting 8 April, 2018 at 21:00 Reply @typhoonace it did take a little bit didn’t it .. but it wasn’t that long man
extreme_drifting 8 April, 2018 at 21:01 Reply @authorized_whiteboy fuel was spraying to the fire… when the fuel stops the fire can stop
jurak.parker 8 April, 2018 at 21:08 Reply My first time watching formula d and the first thing i see is the replay of chelsea crashing and then frederico bursting into flame. Good thing hes ok
sheridan_dp 8 April, 2018 at 21:18 Reply @federicosceriffo17 sponsor me, change my life hahaha I’m too bored
derf._ 8 April, 2018 at 21:34 Reply Which incident? His car catching on fire or him sending denofa into the tires?
autotech_shawn 8 April, 2018 at 21:35 Reply some dudes were standing around with extinguishers not knowing what to do.
cheeseandpepperoni 8 April, 2018 at 22:40 Reply Maybe you should acknowledge your failures… That car was on fire for waaaayyyy too long.
nathan_leming 8 April, 2018 at 22:44 Reply When the @formulad response to the crash takes as long as the fire crew’s response time
cheeseandpepperoni 8 April, 2018 at 22:49 Reply @federicosceriffo17 You’re obviously a very relaxed person, and you know how to play the game, but let’s be real if you got pinched against the wall things could have ended horribly… the response time was inexcusable…
t.mortensen12 8 April, 2018 at 23:09 Reply @ranger.zz having a small extinguisher as a requirement to pass safety inspection could be a thing.
jmsports 8 April, 2018 at 23:20 Reply @saiyan_style86 he said that a steering arm came unnattatched after contact with denofa and it hit a fuel line causing the fuel to spill onto the hot exhaust and light up.
bluekollarbuilt 8 April, 2018 at 23:22 Reply Was so sad to see it go up in flames but I’m glad he was ok… hopefully the car will be too!
ayshan.boi 8 April, 2018 at 23:35 Reply I’m happy that there’s some originality in the drift cars (not to say that all the FD cars are old, but like damn, a super car drifting? Hmmmmm)
crills2000 8 April, 2018 at 23:49 Reply The time it took for the safety crew to get to the car and put out the fire is a joke and the fact that they have no fireproof clothing is unacceptable for a top level motorsports event in this day and age. FD should be ashamed.
rsxdc5parts 9 April, 2018 at 00:14 Reply Seriously though, so lucky he was able to pull from the wall and have enough room to open the driver side door and get out. Last thing you want to see in FD is a car on fire
typhoonace 9 April, 2018 at 00:21 Reply @extreme_drifting it’s not just the response time, we don’t see where they are coming from, they could of had to drive from an access point further round the track, but you’re putting other people ie the firefighters safety at risk when you aren’t even supplying them with fireproof suits and then expecting them to tackle a fuel blaze
extreme_drifting 9 April, 2018 at 00:25 Reply @typhoonace no ya ik they needed to be suited via race car crashes and race car fires are very brutal and and worse then reg crashes the fire can spread quicker then reg cars (race fuel) and those cars are mainly carbon fiber or plastic so it could have been worse glad he got out, they do need to take better measures for that stuff especially for drifting hitting things or walls happens alot I hope this is some wake up call
driftingup 9 April, 2018 at 01:59 Reply The real incident was the worst fire response on a track since fuji speedway 1998
mikechipak 9 April, 2018 at 03:51 Reply Cars like this are gonna Make it difficult for not so rich drivers to get into FD because it becomes a sport that requires lots of money over all and turns into something more mainstream
tylermcquarrie 9 April, 2018 at 04:09 Reply @t.mortensen12 fire suppression systems are mandatory. Much more than that is needed for a fuel fire like that
unicorn_tamer 9 April, 2018 at 04:37 Reply @oddmindedrick he said on his page a suspension component was damaged after the Denofa incident. He then stated he initiated and the suspension component completely broke, which then severed the fuel line further starting the fire.
ranger.zz 9 April, 2018 at 04:39 Reply @t.mortensen12 I meant for the trackside officials or employees to have extinguishers at all times
jaspreetsphotography 9 April, 2018 at 06:05 Reply never seen any Ferrari doing drifting like this before
boondokz 9 April, 2018 at 06:33 Reply @_walter.cooper_ My point is there is more design influence and company’s built off the sport of drifting, basically you don’t have a clue about the sport and the cars that still are competing in US FD like the REDESIGNED Toyota 86 that have huge branches of there racing development into drifting. Thus the Corola that won the event. Ferrari has no place FD.
aaron.russell 9 April, 2018 at 07:03 Reply @driftingup Thankfully it wasnt as bad though, still pitiful nonetheless.
boondokz 9 April, 2018 at 09:28 Reply @hultmanx Yes I do,but the car that Aasbo is driving is basically a RWD concept from Toyota running along the same “REDESIGN” generation of cars like the 86 “early very early corolla” all I’m saying as a fan of early Formula D stemming from Japan that Ferrari has no place in US FD. I mean come on a v12 twin charged engine, aren’t supercharged v8 240’s and 2jz powered toyota’s a high enough level of competition?
281dude 9 April, 2018 at 10:39 Reply @autotech_shawn It was fuel fire. Even if they sprayed it it most likely wouldn’t have gone out
281dude 9 April, 2018 at 10:40 Reply @cheeseandpepperoni It was a fuel fire. There isnt a ton you can do about that.
harness.l__ 9 April, 2018 at 11:59 Reply I’m sorry but the response time was pathetic, I don’t think there was any concern for his car , I’m sorry but it’s the truth
autotech_shawn 9 April, 2018 at 12:08 Reply Well those the dude should have been working harder to spray it out then.
litt.romneey 9 April, 2018 at 13:14 Reply @281dude not really but they could make sure the fire crew isn’t trying to put it out in t shirts and has a better response time, for how long the course is it took way too long
efdan_ 9 April, 2018 at 13:47 Reply @cheeseandpepperoni another major point is a lot of drivers get burned because they get knocked out in a crash and can’t escape to safety. Even a 10k racing suit only holds back second degree burns for 40 seconds. We have to assume the car cannot put itself out and he driver can’t escape. That would push the safety crews to be more well equipped. Better to be over prepared and over equipped when it comes to safety!
tylermcquarrie 9 April, 2018 at 15:52 Reply @will_bong engine bay, cockpit, and fuel cell. Usually only 15-20 seconds of deployment for a 10lbs system. FD only requires a 5lbs system
jairo_z33 9 April, 2018 at 17:01 Reply @mikechipak driving with a car like that is a handicap in my opinion parts aren’t easy to get or easy to replace seconds add up whenever you have to get back on track imagine if he were running a different engine setup he could have been back in action but since you can’t order up parts all the way from Italy
osku_soomets 9 April, 2018 at 17:21 Reply I was so sad it was the car i was the most excided about this year
_scotterpop 9 April, 2018 at 17:34 Reply @mikechipak the cool thing about FD is you can take almost any car, build it, and compete. If you try to say someone can’t drift a Ferrari because it’s not fair it’s gonna turn into a boring sport
_scotterpop 9 April, 2018 at 17:36 Reply @mikechipak plus the Ferrari isn’t even the best platform for drifting and isn’t even the highest hp car in FD
nthn08 9 April, 2018 at 20:39 Reply @formulad will there be any modifications to the rule book regarding fuel line routing as my understanding was that he had his fuel lines in a crush zone….
will_bong 9 April, 2018 at 22:52 Reply @tylermcquarrie thanks for the info! You thinking you guys should have to run 10lb systems?
redline240sx 10 April, 2018 at 01:35 Reply The car that caused that quartered him before they even got ready to initiate. Dude hit him and unsettled the car which caused the car to hit the wall
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 02:49 Reply @cheeseandpepperoni I’m sorry, how fast should they have gotten there? Trucks where there In like 30 sec.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 02:54 Reply @cheeseandpepperoni had the power to the car been shut off it would not have been. Let me know when you are ready to fight a car fire. I will be happy to put you to work.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 02:58 Reply @driftingup let me know when you are ready to work a car fire. It’s so easy to watch a video and say how bad of a job someone is doing. The trucks rolled as soon as the mustang was gone. If you think you can do better, contact me. I will be happy to put you on a truck and see how you do.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:02 Reply @harness.l__ really??? The trucks rolled as soon as the mustang was clear. As I have said before, it easy for someone who has no knowledge about what has to happen at an event to criticize response times. There was absolutely concern for his car. I offer anyone that thinks they can do a better job to let me know. I will be happy to make it happen.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:09 Reply @crills2000 28 seconds. That’s how long it took for them to arrive. They had to wait for the mustang to clear. The fire fight took a while because the electricity was not shut off to the car and fuel was still pumping. You are correct about the clothing, but don’t criticize someone’s job, until you know what it takes to do it.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:17 Reply @litt.romneey yes on fire suits. No on response times. 28 sec. The mustang had to clear the course.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:21 Reply @ranger.zz as I have said before in here. 28 sec for trucks on scene, it’s easy to sit by after the fact and say what you would have done better. Other than what they where wearing, there response was on point. Let me know if you think you can do better, I can arrange it.
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:32 Reply @willieofnyc think you can do better? Come on out and play for a weekend. I want to see what you can do.
willieofnyc 10 April, 2018 at 03:35 Reply @vetteaddict I’ve never seen a pro even take that long to put out a fire, so if that’s my job yes I could
vetteaddict 10 April, 2018 at 03:37 Reply @willieofnyc come to California for a weekend. I want to see how you do against a fire that is still being fed fuel from the fuel pump. Who knows maybe we have a new career for you.
saich16 10 April, 2018 at 04:50 Reply @laced562_ my bad, just couldn’t miss the mindless responses I saw in the comments
laced562_ 10 April, 2018 at 05:03 Reply @saich16 no point of arguments its just an opinion .. u don’t have to follow on what I say… that’s just how I felt since i was present at fd this weekend when it happemed..
saich16 10 April, 2018 at 05:05 Reply @laced562_ alright, I just think it’s kind of ridiculous to believe a track would take their time so a driver is unable to continue racing
laced562_ 10 April, 2018 at 05:07 Reply @saich16 were u there???? Ask anybody here .. The firefighters came way too late as they was at the opposite side of the track..they took their time
saich16 10 April, 2018 at 05:10 Reply @laced562_ well I know that, but there is no reason for them to purposely let his car be destroyed by flames
laced562_ 10 April, 2018 at 05:23 Reply @saich16 any other racing series they would of been there quicker than that
ranger.zz 10 April, 2018 at 05:32 Reply @vetteaddict I mean other than the fact than i was there watching it in person and after countless replays there still something better they could’ve done. The fire suppression. System in the car did not do its job and if it was then there was too much fuel. Bottom line is t doesn’t matter who was there at the time of the crash and who wasn’t. They should have been prepared for the worst.
coonerz32 10 April, 2018 at 05:32 Reply @the_nissan_initiative go to @federicosceriffo17 for the link to the photographer, maybe dm him. The first pic is from @larry_chen_foto
redline240sx 10 April, 2018 at 11:06 Reply @vetteaddict I’ve watched the video from where they started. As soon as they left the line, the mustang quartered the 599 moving behind it. You can see this in the video and see how much it unsettled the 599
harness.l__ 10 April, 2018 at 12:15 Reply @vetteaddict I’m man , it’s the truth , look at all these other comment , it’s not just me that noticed it !
skidsnstuff 10 April, 2018 at 17:36 Reply @vetteaddict I don’t think I can do better at all. But I want to be on the team. I’m a California native.
jackmorris__ 10 April, 2018 at 18:57 Reply your so called “first responders” sat there and watched a mans car burn up in flames, to make matters worse on the first round of the season! Fredericos entire life probably revolves around that ferrari, the crowd could have gotten to him quicker than you did
