Good thing he wasn’t stuck inside cause he wouldn’t of been okay after waiting all that time for the SLEEPY TEAM to show up and put the car fire out… that response time was pitiful.
Ok @formulad are you responsible for fire crew or ambulance crew track aids? Or is that something that track advisor like who ever runs event that not fd cause it’s whole race track and you guys only get a small part of it. Right? Not the whole thing?
The fact that it took almost a minute until any action was taken against the fire in the Ferrari is so ridiculous I’m so glad no one was injured but I hope now you will be more cautious and equip everyone with a fire extinguisher
Hope you guys are putting in an investigation into who is responsible for safety and Marshall support, very poor show with response times and safety equipment, half those firefighters had short sleeve shirts on 😑😑😑 #firetheinterns
Thank you for doing all you could to get me and my car in safety. Such tragic accidents are never expected. Everything can be improved, everywhere, in any kind of Motorsport, that’s why we professional Motorsport people always work very hard to improve our sports and safety everyday . I feel that @formulad it is a safe and very well organized Drift Championship. @federicosceriffo17 You’re obviously a very relaxed person, and you know how to play the game, but let’s be real if you got pinched against the wall things could have ended horribly… the response time was inexcusable…
@saiyan_style86 he said that a steering arm came unnattatched after contact with denofa and it hit a fuel line causing the fuel to spill onto the hot exhaust and light up.
The time it took for the safety crew to get to the car and put out the fire is a joke and the fact that they have no fireproof clothing is unacceptable for a top level motorsports event in this day and age. FD should be ashamed.
Seriously though, so lucky he was able to pull from the wall and have enough room to open the driver side door and get out. Last thing you want to see in FD is a car on fire
@extreme_drifting it’s not just the response time, we don’t see where they are coming from, they could of had to drive from an access point further round the track, but you’re putting other people ie the firefighters safety at risk when you aren’t even supplying them with fireproof suits and then expecting them to tackle a fuel blaze
@typhoonace no ya ik they needed to be suited via race car crashes and race car fires are very brutal and and worse then reg crashes the fire can spread quicker then reg cars (race fuel) and those cars are mainly carbon fiber or plastic so it could have been worse glad he got out, they do need to take better measures for that stuff especially for drifting hitting things or walls happens alot I hope this is some wake up call

@_walter.cooper_ My point is there is more design influence and company’s built off the sport of drifting,basically you don’t have a clue about the sport and the cars that still are competing in US FD like the REDESIGNED Toyota 86 that have huge branches of there racing development into drifting. Thus the Corola that won the event. Ferrari has no place FD.
@hultmanx Yes I do,but the car that Aasbo is driving is basically a RWD concept from Toyota running along the same “REDESIGN” generation of cars like the 86 “early very early corolla” all I’m saying as a fan of early Formula D stemming from Japan that Ferrari has no place in US FD. I mean come on a v12 twin charged engine,aren’t supercharged v8 240’s and 2jz powered toyota’s a high enough level of competition?
@281dude not really but they could make sure the fire crew isn’t trying to put it out in t shirts and has a better response time, for how long the course is it took way too long
@cheeseandpepperoni another major point is a lot of drivers get burned because they get knocked out in a crash and can’t escape to safety. Even a 10k racing suit only holds back second degree burns for 40 seconds. We have to assume the car cannot put itself out and he driver can’t escape. That would push the safety crews to be more well equipped. Better to be over prepared and over equipped when it comes to safety!
@mikechipak driving with a car like that is a handicap in my opinion parts aren’t easy to get or easy to replace seconds add up whenever you have to get back on track imagine if he were running a different engine setup he could have been back in action but since you can’t order up parts all the way from Italy
@mikechipak the cool thing about FD is you can take almost any car, build it, and compete. If you try to say someone can’t drift a Ferrari because it’s not fair it’s gonna turn into a boring sport

As I have said before, it easy for someone who has no knowledge about what has to happen at an event to criticize response times. There was absolutely concern for his car. I offer anyone that thinks they can do a better job to let me know. I will be happy to make it happen.
@crills2000 28 seconds. That’s how long it took for them to arrive. They had to wait for the mustang to clear. The fire fight took a while because the electricity was not shut off to the car and fuel was still pumping. You are correct about the clothing, but don’t criticize someone’s job, until you know what it takes to do it.
@ranger.zz as I have said before in here. 28 sec for trucks on scene, it’s easy to sit by after the fact and say what you would have done better. Other than what they where wearing, there response was on point. Let me know if you think you can do better, I can arrange it.

@vetteaddict I mean other than the fact than i was there watching it in person and after countless replays there still something better they could’ve done. The fire suppression. System in the car did not do its job and if it was then there was too much fuel. Bottom line is t doesn’t matter who was there at the time of the crash and who wasn’t. They should have been prepared for the worst.

@t.mortensen12 fire suppression systems are mandatory. Much more than that is needed for a fuel fire like that

@will_bong engine bay, cockpit, and fuel cell. Usually only 15-20 seconds of deployment for a 10lbs system. FD only requires a 5lbs system
