I’m glad you guys are doing this cause I’m in the process of rebuilding mine (VQ35DE 11.0.1 compression) and its the first motor I have ever built. Expect some questions from me.
Soo many bolts. Have fun haha
How much is it?
@zombiereptar
Rebuild on a DE or HR ?
@rude_boyy23 DE
@vince_gee $30
@noturboz for the accessories , yes , overall the long block was pretty standard , the head is nothing crazy
@slyda88 was the engine already machine ? Which parts are you using ? What is the application ? And who is setting the clearances ?
@driftingcom I had the bottom end built by G&G Machine Shop in Houston so I just have to put everything else together. Everything in the bottom end is built except for it being sleeved. Weisco 11.0.1 pistons; Eagle rods; ACL bearings; ARP studs; and stock crank repolished with everything balanced. Build this motor for drifting and to later on SC it.
Stock head btw…for now
@slyda88 cool , any questions , let us know so we can look into them
@im_herverted
@i_are_katzman
Lol coulda used his when I did my rebuild!
@cruz_control91 did you do the assembly?
Ya did everything myself! Lol
@cruz_control91 any areas that were unclear to you at first ?
Not really just took my time with it made sure EVERYTHING is labeled to the T. Double check everything!
@cruz_control91 exactly , it’s not a complicated engine, , but there are a lot of parts to keep track of
Hell Ya! Be careful with the timing chains, in my opinion those were the hardest to get correct must have had them on and off about seven times till I got them perfect!
@cruz_control91 , yes , it takes time to adjust the parts to line up , but at least the markings on the gear and chain are easy to follow
