There is so many difference on those 2. However. These type of welding wouldnt be much of difference which material to use. If you have choice to use 316. Sure. If not 304 with proper welding procedures will make a weld. Its like anything else best material does nothing if its been welded without proper task. But again.. These types of weld for manifold isnt much of problem which one to use. @beljaflah87
But again if job is require to weld on certain codition and material then certain condition and job is better the 304 or 316. Less carbon,more nickel,moly and so on. @beljaflah87
