its not a new rule, its a new class. d1 street legal.
cars must retain interior panels, working radio, engine must have came in that car (ie a 1990 silvia with ca18det, cant switch to sr20det, no big deal cuase god why would you want to swap lol), cage yes,no carbon fiber,no carbon brakes etc. basically to make it now street legal cars.
i hear it will be coming to the states soon enoug.

and this car was an auction car which most importers post on there sites for sale...difference is he actually purchased this car.
3,284.80 would be the current conversion, lets be fair and round up to 3500
it does not cost 4500 to get a car here.

he can tell me what RI he is using if hes legit.

If you look at the pic of the engine bay you can see the pipe leading out to the fender in the upper right hand corner. More than likely it is used to vent hot air out from the engine bay. At least that is the only logical reason I can figure from the pics.

that looks like a hot pipe leading to an intercooler....even though you cant see the turbo or BOV on it. But in the pics there is a FMIC, and i don't see anything else that looks like a hotpipe, so a hotpipe, not whatever the thing leading to the fender is, is my best guess.

It would cost close to 4k to ship and clear a car here if not more.

Not hardly. Depends how you ship it, what size container and what the weight is. If your shipping 3-4 cars in a 40ft container you should have shipping as low as $800 per car. There are no "customs" fees exactly, but you need your ducks in a row and their are plenty of documents to fill out. Legalization is a whole 'nother ball park.
