1977 Celica - RWD, new paint, roll cage
located near Houston, Texas.
I'm selling my 1977 RA29 Celica Liftback GT rolling chassis
The car was being built to be a dedicated autocross car, so the interior has been removed, as well as all sound deadening material and undercoating (a tedious and laborous job), an autometer roll cage installed, and it has been painted inside and out. It is ready to drop a powerful engine in to and make a solid drag or other race car, a prostreet car, or a better than stock rest-ification
The metal is all very good. This is a central texas car from Austin (low humidity, roads not salted in the winter (no snow)) so it there is almost no rust
What has been done to it:
Autopower 8 point roll cage
cost about $350 unassembled - model # 60240C
Cage welding (estimate ~ 8 hours @ $50/hour) $400
2 Autopower seat braces - $140
Paint : engine bay, interior, exterior, stripes ~ $500
sound deadening material removed - $??? for labor
undercoating removed - - $??? for labor
Chassis is very clean with all the glass, lights, guages & dash, steering,
seals and very minimal rust (spare tire well was modified for ATL fuel cell, see photos)... so it is like $400 value...
Grand total... approx $2500 was spent to get the chassis that I have here...
Of course, I'm not expecting to get $2500, that's just what has been spent on it. Presently it is taking up needed space, so if you are interested, PM me with an offer and we might work out a deal for ya.
I have a lot more photos and information in my ad here:
