once something gets popular everyone always bitches about it being too popular and that all the knoobs are destroying the scene. in some cases the complaints are valid in some cases they are not.

all you can do is to represent the sport in an honorable fashion and help those who seek aid. hey, it's better to help the newbies then have them crash into you.

you may think that touge is still safe and your own private playground; guess again. there's now a bunch of people running the canyons; some safely, some not.

just be careful and stay safe.
yep. just help out the noobs. then they'll realize that drifting isnt for them. it really isnt for everyone. (ex. my friend with a 240 has no real control over his car. he crashed 4 times in two months trying to learn how to drift)

also if it goes mainstream then we'll be able to get more parts. hopefully parts that are based in japan. i know i'd like that . cause right now those parts are pretty expensive. i'd like it to go down a bit. and how about drifting sponsorships? that sounds good to me

hopefully it gets real big with a bunch of rich ricers, so companies flood the market with JDM products, then the fads change so drifting isn't cool anymore and all the parts become really cheap and only the hardcore true drift fanatics are left!!!!!

yea i agree. help out the noobs. ive only been drifting for 3 months (cause thats when i got my car) but ive known about drifting and drifters for way longer than that. its a lot better to know whether ur meant for it or not if u got a drift veteran that knows what he's talking bout and helps u thru it. but the thing is..i have to agree with the idea that ricers might mess up this whole scene. ricers are only in it to impress, drifters do it for the pure rush and fun to see ur wheels lose traction and the fascination of seeing everything move sideways. the difference with ricers and drifters is that ricers will do their stuff in public, while drifters can be the out in the middle of nowhere and still have the time of their lives.

as far as the killing ppl go..i only know bout the numerous ppl that have died in carbon canyon. whether they died from racing is unknown to me. but its still the same concept, everyone needs to be careful. not only the ricers and not only us cuz whether we accept it or not both dragging and drifting are unorthodox methods of driving.

people here like scc and initial D? i just signed up but i know i'm stayin!

anyhoo, i don't think drifting should go big. i would like to see drifting get more popular but there is always some *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* out there looking to be "cool" who will kill someone and ruin it for everyone. i want more drifting, but sometimes i just hate people who don't think.

I hate to say it but i wish drifting would become a fad. Everyone that got in to it for the wrong reasons would bail for the bigest thing (like cars with airplain wings atached....oh don't kid yourself it'll be cool:-) j/k). And then the true drifters will be left( mostly the one the were there for drifting when it "wasn't cooool". Then it will be a past time kept on the DL.

think about it this way. if YOU (yes all of you) know about drifting, it isnt underground. it already is a fad, it already is popular, it already is widely known.

yes lets all complain about n00bs drifting so we can look cool on the internet.

Alright, I am new. I just recently sold my 91 Celica GT because it was ff and I couldn't drift it. Oh, yes I could yank the e-brake put the pedal to the metal counter steer, feint, and brake into a drift better then anyone I have seen and rode with. But I know it wasn't a real drift, I knew that I couldn't hold it at will so I sold it. I started out a ricer, after tf and tf came out but that was just because I got my license after that. One day I got mad because my neons were burnt out so I ripped them all out and that is the day I saw past looks, neons, and driving in straight lines and found style, speed, and skill. Now, I am looking for the 240sx that is going to become a Silvia, my partner, and my soul mate. I found out about drift a year ago and I wish nothing more to become one, one of the best. In my area it has just become known to the public because of a little thing called Initial D: Arcade Stage, yes I am the best at it in my area I have the time attacks to prove it. I have the worst driving record in my school and am known as the street racer. But drifting fills some void in my life that I have. I would rather work and drive my car then spend time with my girl friend. I know that I am going to crash while drifting, if you are going to drift you are going to have to face this reality before or when it happens. I have already been in many accidents and am not scared of them anymore, if you can't trust your driving then what are you going to trust. That is probably why I got into autobody. See I do fear for other people's lives because when you are driving you can't control what they do. This is why I have given up driving fast on the streets and traditional street racing. So now you guys can't say that every newbie is going to cause trouble because I know where and when to drive hard and where and when to drive like there is a P.O. on my tail. I just hope other newbies follow what I believe in. It is going to grow it has to or else it is going to die out like the yo-yo, just another fad. Besides we have to catch up to Japan. I will be posting here a lot so get used to my presence see you guys around.
