      it makes difference

but depends on how hard you drive
and how much your car and your passenger weigh.

      my car weighs 1080kg (2160lb? I think)
when I had a girl/short guy next to me I didn' feel much differnce
      downhill, but not pushing hard.
when I had a guy probably weighs 160lb or something
      did down hill,
I wasn't pussing that hard, it was like 80% of what I do alone,
my 225/50ZR rear tyre start slide at my favorite S bend.

as for side to side balance,
a car usually has more components on passenger side to
      much its balance.
if the car desinged to be RHD, the car has them on the left side.
my car is RHD and designed to be,
she has exhaust system and a battery on left side.

many serious MR2 drivers says MR2s behave differently
on left turns and right turns. I remember a guy said it's
      better with a passenger.

well we've drifted with 3 people in the car....one in passenger seat, driver, and one in the middle in the back leaning the opposite way of the turn, but i dunno how well it worked. lol. i was the one in the back. XD

Balance in the Front and rear is alot more important than the sides. weight and tire and etc. is a huge factor in f/r balance

True, but some might argue that a certain side might wear out faster. Though I drive alone most of the time and don't notice anything.

I have noticed a difference. Expecially if a one of my friends is bigger than I. I weigh around 205. One guy comes with me he is around 150 I notice very little to nothing. but if my friend who weighs around 300 comes with me I notice alot. If i have wight in the back it is more noticeable than in the front (more weight on the rear wheels). My car is very low on power, the suspension is horriable, and it has alot of broken bits right now. which are an obvious factor. The car, susepnsion and power will all play a large role in how your car will respond to more weight.
