  • Drifters know best...

Well, my plans for getting an SC300 are gunna have to be put off for a bit cause of financial stuff so i'ma keep my EG hatchy for a while, it has a b18c1 in it, and i want to put a very nice suspension setup in it...so i was thinking, what better people to ask whats good for suspension than drifters? heh...

I was thinking a Tein RA coilover setup would be nice along with some neuspeed stablizers, and sway bars, control arms, and some integra rear discs...

tell me what oyu think, and what you would do..

    thanks

    Mike

except I think FF's can't drift and drifters know about setting up the suspension to make the car easily provokable to slide. if you want to know some good suspension tips for grip racing, try www.scca.com . and look around for some grassroots motorsports message boards. they really know about suspension.

    rock.

Hachi Kid don't be a statistic. FF's are recognized as being able to enter into the D1 and that's all that needs to be said about FF Drifting. If the D1 gods say it an Drift then it can Drift end of story.

Boosted, do not let ignorant people sway you from your ways. If you want to Drift (you may not) Drift. But I would change your name, if you don't drive an 86 I wouldn't put that in my screenname. Don' be ashamed by your car.

Grassroots is a good place to get suspension set-ups though. Also check with some racers.

for a cheap but excellent suspension you should look into gc's with koni struts. I would go to honda-tech.com and read. I emphasizing reading since the site has lots of knowledable people posting there. If you act like a newb you will get treated like a newb. plus your question has been answered hundreds of times before.

I didn't mean to come off as a jerk, sorry if I did. and it's just personal opinion that I think FF's can't drift.

I didn't think you are a jerk. Hope I wasn't that big of one. It's just that time after time it has been shown that FF's can Drift. The very fact that they are allowed to compete in D1 should silence everyone but it doesn't. We (being Americans) did not inven the sport of Drifting. The Japanese did, it's their sport. Sure it's been done in America in other facets for a long time, but they organized it into what it is today. So if they say it's Drifting, then it is.

That's like saying a spoon can't chop onions. Sure a knife can, but a spoon can too. It's just not the same way as a knife. Not the same clean cut that a knife can make. But it still can.

I completely agree with You Ghost! Let the people drive what they want without anyone have to put their comments in. Boosted just came here asking for a simple question to someone he thought might have more experience in the suspension department. He didn't ask for a lesson on FF drifting.
Boosted, www.honda-tech.com is the place to ask. They will be able to direct you towards the best suspension setup for your Civic.
And BTW, flaming people without reason is not the way to gain respect in a forum.

And even if you dont use your Civic for drifting, it can still carve canyons with the best of them with the right amount of work done to it.

If you happen to live in socal (you didnt feel out a location thing) may i suggest the biggest displacement B series you are comfortable with, b18 or a b20. That lower end grunt (relatively speaking) will help you around these moutains, they tend to be very steep, and alot of them at least in my area dont have a straight downhill up hill run. They have up and down hill constantly.

Of course normal intake and exhaust mods will give you power.

Okay okay i know you were asking about suspension. But i was just trying to say your civic can be a great touge runner as they call them. Oh wait you already said you have a b18 good good. Anyways have fun with it. if you want to try drifting it thats cool too. same if you want a FR car. have fun, go fast.

The only good FF drifter I know runs JIC coilovers. But I dont know if thats the "best" or anything, thats just what he uses.
