i live in las vegas. the import scene is pretty lame IMO. tons of ricers. some cars are done up really nice though. Vegas Drift is a great organization. i'm not a member yet, but i will be soon. as for autox... i have only seen one, but i know that they are going on often enough. drifting is really starting to take off.

            Moving to vegas

Hello, my name is Bryan. I'm in the Air Force and I'm stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan. I've been here for over three years and I'm totally into the drifting and car scences here. I just came from a trip to vegas about a week ago and when I got back they told me that I'm about to get stationed out there in January 05! So I want to get to know some drifters and get into the circle out there. I was really worried that I'd have a hard time drifting in the states and I was so excited when I found out about you guys! So that's my story. I'll be in Vegas in January.

I'm gonna be building a nice s13 when I come back. I'm collecting mad parts to bring back with me. I've already got a couple of SR's and a lot of 180/s13 stuff. Let me know if your haveing trouble finding anything there and I'll see if I can sorce it there before I leave. Hurry though cause I've only got about five weeks left here!

Hope to hear back from you.

            Bryan Knight

Me and some of the Drift Session crew were out there for the SEMA show earlier this month. I'd say that imports are pretty popular out there; you'll get your mix of Cali styled very flashy cars and some JDM-styled more plain looking vehicles too.

A few of the Vegas Drift guys took us around town this and last year. It seems as though they used to hang out at In and Out Burger until the domestic guys came and took over that spot. Now they hang out at Sonics by the Palms Hotel.

They told us that drag racing is still very popular out there even in the import crowd, but drifting is gaining popularity. There are a few drifters there and they have their spots for practice. If you go out with them, make sure you go further out of town than where they took us cause it got broken up pretty quick. But, other than that, I think there's tons of room out there for some "driver development." I think they also have a few track events set aside for drifting as well.

What the Vegas guys also said is that the local PD is so busy on the weekends with real assholes in the casinos that they don't bother a whole lot with the car scene.

With all the traffic there 24 hours a day, it doens't seem like there's much freeway stuff going on. I'm sure you could take it out to some other highways (like where they do that Silver State Challenge), but then again, the Highway Patrol comes out of nowhere out there and always seems to be watching.

              Good luck!
