all of you who say that it couldnt possible be like a rally shifter because there is already a shifter, well you guys are wrong. how many of you actually pay attention during the incar sequences in WRC coverage? te older cars use shifters that look just like that, and there is another knob in there too. when they pull the big one, the other one moves too, they are linked, one just is closer to the steering wheel. as far as paddle shifters go, only two makes of cars use them, suby imprezas and 206's. that is it.

it's not a rally shifter I believe it's a extra e-brake just makes it easier to grab rather than reaching for that small *Censored**Censored**Censored* brake

                        so thats what happened......wow

yeah, it doesnt look like a rally shifter really, the extended e-brake thing has my vote, i was just saying that because there is another shift knob doesnt mean it couldnt be a shifter.....

omg...you people. it's a hydraulic handbrake control. Just because her OEM handbrake is there doesnt mean it still works.

...and you folks wonder why i dont post here much!

Actually you are half right Silverghost. Most (if not all) rally cars are going to paddle shifters now. At least the big boys. Reason being, hands on the wheel.

The 2 levers that you speak of are exactly like a dune buggy. One lever for each rear wheel. Hill climb buggies use that exact same set up. That way you can actually "walk" up a hill. Her lever (and she looks so good gripping it, that's grip style in my opinion " is to lock up the rear brakes. both of them, to induce a drift. I bought a hill climber bug from a guy. It stood 6 feet tall at the roof. Had 33x10.50s on the rear and military wheels in the front. It had those levers in it. It also won the 1992 or 3 Jump-a-thon at the Lakewood fair grounds in Atlanta. The guy that built it was a hill climber and he used the 2 handle brake set up. He is 70 years old and is building a lst buggy to climb some hill in Tallapoosa Ga that he could never climb. He want's to do it before he dies. Now that's dedication. His new climber has 300 hp.

I sold mine to some cool Tattoo artist and he painted it German grey with Iron crosses, put front brakes on it and drives it in downtown Atlanta now. That thing had 3 inch tube bumpers on it. Scary.

yeah, but while more of the rally drivers are going to the paddle shifters, the guys that drive like the fords and sh!t all use on of those big ones still. the imprezas added them for this season, and previously, the only ones that had it were like grunholms (not sure exctly how to spell it) 206........
