Lol. It sort of makes sense though, I'm sure the feedback is easier to read with slippers. Or not. Who knows. I wear Nikes.

Ive experimented with shoes before. Right now i wear DCs but the soles are kinda too big and theyre really puffy and get it the way sometimes. Like theyre so puffy that they get caught on different stuff down there, like i had the right one get caught under the brake forcing the gas down which sucked and the gas one if i let go sometimes it gets stuck under the side of the dash since the car i use has a full interior. I like old worn addidas the best. Theyre really durable and thin but still very comftorable. If you have automatic i just like to drive in sox when they let me. For gloves i wear regular fox racing gloves. Theyre made of high grain leather, their extremely breathable, and flame retardent since i set them on fire once on accident. You can get a pair of these at biking stores for like 20 bucks. They also never slipped for me.

a bit off topic but carbon fiber and kevlar was mentioned earlier, kevlar is extremely strong, but not very stiff (one of the best energy absorbers), carbon fiber is very light, strong, and stiff, but very brittle compared to kevlar. the "ultimate" material so to say would be a blend of the carbon fiber material with kevlar to create a carbon kevlar composite that is as strong and stiff like carbon fiber but absorbs energy like kevlar.
about shoes, old school chuck taylors, red, because red is the fastest color.

We got the hookup
I know that this forum is not for soliciting, but I just wanted to offer this deal to everyone looking at this thread. I work at a circle track racing shop. We sell RCI and Racequip racing shoes. These are D1 approved shoes if you check the rules. They come in blue, black, or red. Now I'm telling you that they usually retail for 125.99, but we have a competition to sell the most this month. Whoever does gets a free pair, and I can use them greatly. So PM me and I can get em to you at almost half off!
I know that the whole drifting in socks thing is always pretty cool, but I understand the rules, and wrestling shoes and stuff just don't humor the officials like you'd think. Hopefully I can hook you guys up so you guys can hook me up.

re
usually i use something with a thin sole.
Martial arts type shoes are really good because their
not to big and they have a thin sole. The Feiyues are
good. Or you can get pool shoes, their thinner and
better then sandals and pretty cheap too.

I haven't tried them, but it seems like military flight gloves would work very well for driving: nomex lined, nylon back with a goatskin external stich palm... and you can find them for $25....
Oh and kevlar is a aramid fiber (a polymer) which is a para-phenylene while carbon fiber is just that: carbon which has been splintered into fibers. Kevlar is actually very similar to nomex which is in meta-phenylene group.
