So much domestic hate, I'm gonna cry *tear* hahah j/k. My first drifting mishap on the track was on an off-camber turn doing a reverse course layout. Came out of the turn too fast and went off the track at about 35 mph. Ended up bouncing off the tires, but no damage besides 2 scratches. Domestics are pretty tough (other ppl have bent fenders in the tires). First mishap on the street (yes I used to do it on the street) was at a place we call 'Triangles', was taking a turn real nice at 40mph and went over a gravel pit. Ended up throwing my line off and my rear wheel hit the curb. Rear of the car jumped up, but after much inspection (slow roll), the car had absolutely no damage aside from a small crack on the lip of my wheel. Kept drifting till the sun came up! Since then I've crashed about 8 times, but no major damage to my car aside from scratched paint (like I care lol). Domestics can take a beating.

i think anyone that drifts....real drifts, in rwd........is part insane, doesnt matter wht car you are driving. but definately drifting sports cars is tough, and crazy. i used to drift my moms datsun 280zx, and that sh!t is fast and very squirly coming out of drifts. its hard to keep it straight after a slide. drifting takes balls before anything else.

                drift crash

my friend had a pretty much stock 240, intake, exhaust. he raced my other friend that has a h22 in an accord, and they were racing through a big bend, i dont know how fast they were going, but they were flying (left me far behind) then all i saw was a 240 spin out, spin across the road and slam into a tree. it was crazy looking. he first slammed into the back of the accord, they both spun out, the accord got straightened out and he took off, however, the 240 jumped a curb, and the driver side quarter panel and bumper smacked a tree real hard. this was all in a public street with cars around, luckily, they didnt hit anyone else. i stopped in the far right lane to let my friend get back in traffic so we could get out of there fast, his car was still running ok, but when he started driving, his passenger side rear wheel looked like this / . the bottom was pushed in, and as he tryed to drive straight, the rear end was sliding all over the road, he was driving sideways trying to drive straight, it was funny looking, but the wreck sucked.

                    driver

yea, amazingly he wasnt hurt, the car is totalled though, the motor runs fine, we found him a 240 coupe instead of a hatch like he had, 600 bucks for the coupe, but the motor doesnt run in it, hes just going to get the coupe, and put his working motor in the coupe and there is his new car. plus i have silvia body panels i could sell to him and he could be driving a silvia front end conversion.

GREAT STORIES GUYS, reading about the diffrient conditions and situations helps one become a well rounded drifter. and speaking of well rounded i think the ignorant drifters need to get off rice beacause its more about physics than what kind of car you drift. I started this thread and started learning drifting with a domestic, so that explains itself.
                      RWD or AWD+ControlXBalls=Drift
i think the math is right. Thanks for all the great stories, keep them comming, and thanks again for making this one of the more intresting threads.

                        drift crash

my friend doesnt even know what happened when he crashed the 240, i have been trying to come with some type of answer, he was right behind the accord, and he said the accord started to brake and slow down, so he got on his brakes, and tryed to get into the next lane fast so he wouldnt rear end the accord, im guessing that when he did that, the car nose dived, taking weight off the rear wheels and causing the tires to break traction and the rear end to come out (he also upgraded the front pads to cobalt racing pads, only the front) he is also not experienced in drifting that much, so if it did happen that way, he didnt know how to control it going about 90 in a stock 240. what do you guys think?
