To start off the New Year at the Drift Session, we'll
be bringing in Shinto preist Amano from the Izumo
Taisha temple to Hawaii Motorsports Center on Saturday
January 15th, 2005 (Drift Session event). The gates
will be open from 9am - 3pm and we're planning the
blessing to be at 10am.
Mr. Amano will be conducting a good luck blessing for
the Drift Session at the Raceway as well as doing
good luck blessings for individuals. About a year and
a half ago, several Drift Session staff and drivers
went to the Izumo Taisha temple itself to have
blessings performed on their cars.
Blessings for homes, businesses, and vehicles are very
common in Japan and many people begin the New Year
with a special blessing. Knowing what we do at the
Drift Session, we can use all the blessings and good
luck we can get.
The Drift Session will be picking up the tab for the
overall blessing and Mr. Amano's visitation, but for
anyone else that wants to have their vehicle blessed
(can be a drift car, regular car, motorcycle,
girlfriend's car, etc.), we need an advance head count
now so the priest can determine what to bring with
him. If you're interested, RSVP right away and be
prepared to bring a temple donation of about $10 - $20
or so.
People RSVP'ing will need to send me their (or the
vehicle owner's) full name and vehicle year, make, and
model.
Any questions, email us at info@driftsession.com.
Please remember to RSVP right away.
