  • Salt Flats Part THREE!!!

That's right ladies and gentlemen. Tempt Media is hitting up El Mirage for our third visit to the lake bed. Last two times have been a blast and we have enjoyed meeting new forum members from all sorts of different forums each time. This time should be no different.

We are heading out on Saturday, February 19th for a full day of fun (if weather permits).

    What to bring:
    1) Two way radios.
    2) Water and Food that wont rot (it should be 65-75 degrees).
    3) A small tool set.
    4) Cameras.
    5) Your car.
    6) Chairs.

    What to leave home:
    1) ALCOHOL. Bring it and I will have a ranger escort you off of the premises.
    2) **** Heads. We already had one mishap with some dumb asses breaking the rules. If you come with us then follow the rules.
    3) Guns. There is no shooting allowed there. It is the middle of no where, but guns are still not allowed.

    What not to do:
    1) DO NOT BREAK THE LAKE BEDS SURFACE.
    - NO BURNOUTS.
You can drift and drive the piss out of your car but don’t roast tires in one spot. It leaves holes and can causes serious accidents.

Tempt Media is not responsible for any lost or damaged goods. Bring everything at your own risk. I hope to see many of you there.

Here are some photos and videos from our past meets:

How do you guys organize this stuff?

i.e. How do you prevent collisions between cars? Is there a run system set up, or a designated area for each car?

This is the largest group we have had to date. Last time we had about 20 cars and there were two groups on two different parts of the lake bed. The groups that were doing straight runs drove off and further from us where they did there 150+mph runs. The groups that were drifting and driving near us never had more then 6 cars driving at once and they all had a distance between them.

This time I will most likely setup up a 5 car system and we will set out in driving groups. We have never had a collision and only had one close call when our company owner and a friend of ours got to close to each other.

People are usually pretty smart out there, and the bikers and other cars drive around us.

            Any more questions?

                      Matt,
It looks like you have answered most of your own questions.
                      good job.
Sorry I did not respond sooner. I have not been at a computer in a few days.

Ok guys, sad to say it, but the lake bed will be closed and the meet is officially postponed...

To be re-scheduled in the next couple of weeks.
