Jasper Performance is in need of a few good ‘Hot Pit’ mechanic’s located in or around Chicago, for the Round 5 of Formula D at Soldier Field, IL. The dates 8/5-8/6 and are confirmed. The times are still tentative however I will be in touch with the ‘chosen ones’ prior to the Event. Entry and food is covered.
Prerequisites Include;
- At least 18 years of age as imposed by SCCA rules
- Mechanical knowledge of forced induction and basic mechanics
You need to be;
- Fast on your feet
- Take direction
- Have a good attitude
- Work as a team
- Dressed to impress and no not your Sunday best (we will provide you with a t-shirt)
Your duties may include;
- Set-up and Tear-down of our pit
- Wheel changes in the ‘Hot Pit’ between heats
- Making sure tire pressures are with in our limits before the wheels are mounted
- Lifting and lowering the Supra during tire changes
- Re-Torque rear wheel lugs and checking proper torque on front wheels
- Quick Detailing Supra. Windows, body panels, exc.
- Keep the pit in meticulous condition at all times
- Check all body panels and bumpers between races for excess play or damage
- Recording engine bay temps, egt’s, tire temp/pressure gains or drops and boost levels between heats
- Bussing tires to and from Yokohama for ‘shoeing’
- Double checking fan is ‘on’ position when engine is operating
- Fueling car between races as needed and recording consumption
- Having a good time!
