A charger would be cool but at +4000lbs it will be dame hard to get all the weight down, they can compensate with power all 6.1L's and maybe a supersharger like the SRT8 concept.

cause that thing got a Hemi!!!!!!!!!!!

NNOOOOOOOOOOOO! The Mopar Viper was pimp as hell!
But..... his new crossfire looks pretty raw too.
        Where the f'n windshield?!?
Welp, atleast it doesn't look like a penis like it normally does.

I thought that was a concept. I thought the car they're gonna drift is a hardtop.

why did they get rid of the viper anyways?

Because it was basically an unfair advantage. It was a car that was not available to the public and it had a tube-chassis.

that waznt sams car. just a concept drifter. i doubt the ppl at mopar would be lame enough to drift a convertible. cant wait to see what they come up with tho...im guessing, crossfire, charger, or 300c

we asked around the mopar booth, they said that was prolly the car for next year but dont hold them to that. marketing wise i would have to say i couldnt understand putting that car at sema for obvious hype purposes and using something else next year.

althoguh i do agree that is nowhere near the finished produc. IIRC from teh rulebook the cage in that thing is nowhere near legal for scca safety concearning FD.

whoa, really? i couldnt imagine mopar putting out a crossfire that looked as whack as the one at SEMA. that thing was ghay. especially the graphics and colors = lame.

now, a purpose built crossfire might be a diff story. ive seen the guyz at nuformz racecars. crazy stuff.

same colors as the performance coupe. Thats a pretty damned sharp looking car. Drifting a xhoptop will definately make them more hihg profile since noone else is doing it. can you say "marketing ploy". I would have really like to see sam throw around the dodge magnum. its go the HP, it wouldnt be too hevay all stripped down and its just a mean looking car anyway.

Yeah, the Mopar guys at the booth were like "yes, the car *might* be Sams car for next year, but you didn't hear that from us. . . ." This indicated to us that Mopar hadn’t made an official announcement yet, so they weren’t at liberty to say so.

And as funky as the roll bar looks, the floor plaque for the car described it as having been officially SCCA/FD approved for the 2005 season. Don’t you think it would be a bit strange for Mopar to but the effort into having a roll bar designed and then officially SCCA approved (which means having an SCCA licensed tech inspector personally inspect the cage) for a concept car that would never see a drift track?

i personally dont think that rollbar comes up high enough to be really effective. i wouldnt wanna race it.

remember what the rulebook i gave you said on open top car?

i think it said all open top must have full cage.

no disrespect to roadsters...im just thinkin from a race standpoint, convertibles have their disadvantages.

well, i dunno. ive seen nuformz stuff before and that crossfire from SEMA didnt look like a "nuformz" creation. i dunno.

by the way, is sam even driving for Mopar next year? i hadnt seen anything about that...
