    lol

im not bashing on the sr, but all im saying is its getting played out. there are still lots of people like you who do get it for the right trasons, and i know there are many benifits from it such as parts, wieghts, and a lot of people are becoming familiar with it. i just want to do something that not everybody does. i have hearde of many gays who have very relaible kat setups that are dd, and i would like to be one of those guys.

I like the Ca because it sits back a bit more and weight, seems, alot better for drifting. I also like the Ca because everyone else in the northwest seems to want a "skyline" motor or an sr20...most want the rb just so they can say they have it...it ( in my mind ) is not worth it...it kinda reminds me of ppl putting h22s in cr-xs...great in a str8 line but horrid on turning. ( weight ) basically same thing will happen with rb. I could get all technical and have my friend Jason explain the entire thing for me ( he is an engineer, knows everything you can think of about cars and suspension )

        anyways...

Well, alot of people get the SR's simply because they are more supported. It's becoming that everyone knows about the SR and how to wire it and blah blah blah. So if you want to get a CA get one, no need for a 3 page thread on why you want one. Sounds like you are trying to talk yourself into it. Shouldn't need to. The CA is a good choice for y ou simply because it's your choice. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

I love SR's, the CA was fun, and I absolutely dispise the dependibility of the KA. Sure there are highly mechanically inclined guys out there that can baby the KA and turbo it to whoop an SR (laughs), but most want a motor that they know has proven itself in every test thrown its way from road racing, to drag, to drifting, to daily mu fu driving. There is nothing like the feeling of pulling up to a light in a 250whp SR, look at the tach and there is no idle flux. I'll gladly pay a few hundred extra to be jdm tyte yo with a motor that I love.
If you like what you have, that's cool. On the other hand, I don't see KA-Ts blowing up every which way. What I do see is that for the price of me boosting up to 450whp, you're still at 300hp.

            Have a nice day.

what I do see is a healthy 300 hp SR auto x'ing, drifting, daily driving for years with out rebuilding just basic maintainence while I've seen 2 KA t's blow up on a drag strip with less than 6,000 miles on the turbo's.

A bad setup is a bad setup. Doesn't matter what motor it is. Where they homemade kits? What kind of expertise did the builder and installer have? Why did they blow? Etc..

I'm sure I can find some blown SR stories, so let's just not go there.

Why not go there? Apparently it already has.
This thread went from a guy saying he wanted a CA18 to a KA vs. SR thread.

Honestly I hate the KA motor, but that why im getting rid of it. If you love KA's great keep it and turbo the SOB.
Bottom line is that its driver preferance.
