Lethbridge Alberta is full of Drifters. The drift scene seemed to have hit hard here. Me and my freinds do our best to make sure it grows.

I'm in no position to label the entire son240sx community a bunch of "drifters". Some people consider a "drifter" someone who has gone pro, some simply consider a "drifter" someone who slides around no matter the time or place.
Therefore "drift enthusiast" is a better term for this occasion.
Thank you, move along.

hahaha being realistic is the same as being a d1ck, huh? That's fine by me, so don't get your panties in a twist over it.
You said "enthusiast", and that's not the same as an actual drifter. Whine all you like, but that's how it is.
I don't feel like moving along either. I'm comfy right here thanks.

I agree there was no reason for him to say that good on yah NeveR. People like Migs are the reason Newbies get discoraged from joing these site and learning more. You need to loosen up and don't bash someone just cause they may or may not know as much as you.

First thing about being a newbie, pay attention to what's being said and think before you overreact.
"An enthusiast doesn't mean you're a drifter" sure isn't anything bad, at least not from my perspective. If it's a crushing blow to your world to realize that you're not a drifter even though you really really like drifting...then you're setting yourself up to be shut down.
Spare me the stereotypical poor-newbie excuse. If you like something and want to learn it, you'll do it regardless of what people say. Besides, I didn't even say anything but the truth.

na6ce, you've got one of two Canadian drifting organizations running events in your backyard
http://vancouverdrifters.org
( the other would be http://www.driftnation.com based in Ontario)
s13daver, Hiya!
No worries, I'm not new to ruffling people's feathers about drifting and I'm really not taking it personally whatsoever. I bring my point of view from the experience of sliding cars around for over 6 years (both FWD and RWD), running an online community, travelling and meeting people across the US and Canada, and finally competing in a drifting event in the US.
So many people like to think they know how to drift, or know what drifting is about, but I find that most of the time that's BS because the closest they've ever come to drifting is watching vids on the net or doing a little tail slide here or there in their cars. The worst is being in the mentality that states you're a drifter because you own a certain car, or because you've bought certain parts for that certain car.
Being realistic is a shutdown for some people, but for others, it's a great way to learn and see things for what they are. If people want to get miffed because of it, that's their choice.
