  • RB20det Engine and Turbo question for Best Drift setup

    Hi
I have a RB20det engine- but need a manifold and
    Turbo -
does anyone have any ideas what manifold is best
to do for a drift application?

Should I get a T25.T28 Nissan Flange Turbo Manifold,
    and a T28 Turbo?

Or what manifold and turbo or with or without wastegate
flange would work the best for my drift machine!

        Hey
Yes- my motor came from the Z31
But, I have heard different things - just like
the Ca18 uses the T25.T28 Turbo with No wastegate
or you can get the KKK or T3 flange with a wastegate

So - I was wondering if anyone had any info
on the Turbo manifolds and Turbos and what flanged
        manifold I should use.

        Thanks!

        Merry XMAS

The manifold is a pain to get and a custom one cost $$$$
            turbo is a t3/25 OE upgrade for the RB20det is t3/28 or z31 t3
you'll need to upgrade the injectors to 440/550 and rx7 ones will swap. you'll need a super afc or remap on the ecu. aftermarket manifold are $$$ too. if you have any questions feel free to ask me as i have the motor in my Sil80 and am still modding it.

                  mine is an ECCS
the NICS has less hp output...youd be almost better off grabbing a sr instead of the NICS version.

If the Motor is a ECCS version.

The best turbo i would recommend for drift for a output under 220 RKWKW is a HKS 2530 / 40 it will be good for upto about 250 RWKW and provide you with little turbo lag / compareable within 500 - 1000 rpm of a stock T3.

180 - 190 Rwkw is obtainable on stock ECU and injectors with something like a FMIC, Dump Pipe, Fuel Pump, CAI,3inch Zorst, After Market Turbo, on anywhere between 15 - 18 psi. anything above this.. a after market ECU and Larger or Aux injectors will be required..

We have built to R32 Skylines here in aust Specifically for drift using RB20DET' which use Custom Seirra Housing at the front with a T3 cut back exhaust housing at the back.. we found this was one of the better set ups to great a long and useable powerband for drifting.
