Race karts usually spelled "Go Kart". Fun karts or yard karts usually spelled "Go Cart". Don't really know why.
Horsepower on a race kart will range from 5hp to over 45 hp on some of the shifter karts.

I asked my son Dustin about drifting a kart and he said probably hard to do to put on a show. They are small and quick so things happen a lot faster than with a full size car. With a good shifter kart and a little practice you can do donuts and set up right you can drift around corners. You won't get tire smoke around a corner but will with a good set of donuts.

i have don it at a place called pharaohs lost kingdom- and blew out a tires but i didn't have 2 pay for it so its all good but go karts slide easily on concrete.. best thing to do it put down baby powder and u can have alot of fun!Comment

i built my own 5 hp, it drove the rear wheels, but i only had one brake so it brake for the left rear wheel only, so to drift i would just brake and it would slide into a nice drift. i could only drift to the left though...Originally posted by Driftingmonkey
