Drifting on a Snowy Day

Sup everyone,
I live in Mi and it just started to snow today, which it didn't throughout most of December. Anyways I took my galant(saving up for a 180) out, told my buddy to meet me up at a lot where we go to on these kind of days. Drove to the parking lot next to the stadium and saw some peeps drifting and doing donuts. Couple of cars, crx and scarlet. Messed around there. Anyways as I headed back home, going down a street pulled the e-brake, drift about 15 ft. I had it controlled till about 185 degrees, did a 360 hit the curb on the other side of the street. >< so now my right rear rim is chiped with the tire deflating. Bad day today, I wasn't thinking. Man Drifting out in the snow is crazi, i think dis is going to be my last time doing crazi shiet like that again.
So embarressing...

Anyone out there have any stories about drifting out in the snow?

lol, Sorry I am laughing I am here in Chicago and I took out my Daily Driver a 94 Nissan Sentra (my 97 240sx does NOT go out in weather like this) and I was sliding around also in the snow. Driving back to my house I pulled the E-brake for less then a second and I taking 90 degree turns with ease (Like I was told in the Drift Bible) Some of the kids saw me and then ran up to the car when I pulled into the driveway and now they think I'm some super drifter or something. I'll let them think that LOL...

My friend pulled through with his accord... haha what fun...


We took it to a park where the lot was not yet plowed... and i taught him proper technique...

He was doing the big no-no... of pulling the ebrake super hard and forever... i finally got him to just use it enough to break loose the rear end... he was having a blast... at first all of his drifts ended pointing at where he started...(180s)... untill i told him when to counter steer and let off the brake... he did get it... but when we took it to the streets he took the coners too slow... the last time around i told him to go about 25-30mph around the corner... and finally he pulled a textbook style drift...

There was this one time i went sledding.. I had a 4x4 ranger parked at the bottom of the hill. The snow was getting really deep and i kept sliding back down the hill. I had to dori up the hill in order get out of there. It was good fun... sort of.

I've ditched Miyoki (my car) a couple of times trying the snow dori, but the last time it snowed I went out in the college parking lot and practiced (had to keep an eye out for campus security though) I drew some circles around the light poles and even drifted a couple of low speed (15mph) corners!! I think it was my MN12's (95 V8 Tbird) first real drift. I felt good but then I tried it on a corner near my house god gave me a reality check when I looped it. I think he's tryin to tell me that either I can't drift or my car can't. Oh well if a Chaser can do it then my Bird can!!

snow is fun to go slooooooooow and drift in the cars you normally wouldnt. like your girlfriends..............................

I'm in Ohio and its snowing today. I'm debating on going out to practice some car control in my FF tonight in the plats. I played around with sliding and e-braking so much in the rain that I'm able to do full-on drifts in the snow with the car. Last time it snowed I started going into turns at about 25-30mph and found that I didn't have enough momentum to get through the turn so I sped up a lil' 40-50mph. Trail braked into some a 90 deg. angle turn and, turned in while flooring it and countersteered. Turned out sorta like a textbook style drift. Its fwd so its not really a drift. I could always use more practice though.

Where I live (near montreal) this year we have alot of snow and there's always like 3 inches of snow on little street and with my 323 I don't even have to pull the hand-brake to make it slide and I'm only going at like 20-25mph max, just have to turn my swheel fast and it goes sideway

Soultron and myself went out to the "dead mall" where it never gets plowed properly. It was too deep in spots, but luckily we didn't get stuck. His car is fun because its easy to do power overs in the snow ( plus the E brake is E broken). We finally got caught by Mall security I waited for the dude to get out of his cheroke and give us a talking to, but I guess it was too cold. He just sat there until we drove off the property.

NO! powerslide is where you just step on it near the corner exit and nothing else... NOT related to e-brake, clutch kick, feint, shift lock, lift-off or ANYTHING else... you JUST step on it and countersteer at the corner exit

Snow and ice is the best tool for car control.You really can't compare it to anything else.Fun sliding around in the snow,there's just a lot more wheel spin,so your engine temps go soaring after a while.
