    A'PEX WINS 2003 D1 GRAND PRIX!!!

We at A'PEX Integration are proud to announce that the A'PEX Japan D1 Grand Prix team and driver Youichi Imamura have conquered the 2003 D1 series with an unprecedented series championship victory! With the series championship on the line, top competitors squared off at the famed Tsukuba Circuit raceway. Though temperatures on this cold November morning neared the freezing level, anticipation was high as the 7th and final round of the 2003 season got underway. Known for its ultra technical course design, the D1 layout at Tsukuba proved to be a worthy battle ground for the series finale. Round 7 saw several teams fall victim to the circuit with multiple crashes and disappointing spin outs.

A'PEX driver Youichi Imamura entered round 7 as series points leader, followed closely by the 2002 champion Katsuhiro Ueo and his infamous AE86 Corolla. Tension was high as one minor mistake could cost the championship for either team. Ueo was ultimately forced to relinquish all hopes of a repeat series championship, retiring with a Best 16 finish due to persistent engine problems. This gave Imamura a clean shot for the series, only needing to acquire a Best 16 finish to secure victory.

We at Integration would like to congratulate Imamura and the Japan D1 team on a great year and outstanding finish to the 2003 D1 series. As 2004 begins we will all be eagerly watching as they launch their assault on a first ever D1 back-to-back series victory.

U.S. D1 fans who cannot make the journey to Japan to root for their favorite drivers and teams have an exciting opportunity in the upcoming 2004 D1 season. The 2004 series will bring D1 to the U.S. one more time with a special U.S. competition round. Points accumulated in this competition will directly reflect upon the Japan D1 series points standings. The event will be held at Irwindale Speedway in Southern California on February 28, 2004. Don't miss your chance to get up close and personal with the A'PEX D1 RX-7 and 2003 series champion, Youichi Imamura.

A'PEX D1 Project with Imamura 2003 season results:

    Round 1 - 4th
    Round 2 - 3rd
    Round 3 - 2nd
    Round 4 - WIN

The day before was exausting for both Imamura, and Ueo as both there cars had problems. Imamura blew an engine and Ueo blew his tranni. As the round got underway Ueos engine began to give and he was unable to perform. Something I would like to point out is there sportsman ship and profesionalism. Theirs is of the best i know. Congrats to both and am looking forwad to them battle it out again this year.
