'Import Racers' on ESPN 2 featuring Drift Alliance

Did anyone else see it?

Just checked it our on ESPN2, after seing the trailer on UrbanRacer and several other sites.

I'm VERY excited that there is a half hour show on ESPN2 about drifting. To my knowledge, this is the first time drifting has EVER been on ESPN2.

... but i'm not sure that this show really portrayed the 'sport' in the best light. Wrecking a rental 'go car', showing more of the mayhem than the technical difficulty of the show.

It was somewhat remeniscent of the first few shows on G4.

The coverage of the amateurs in the actual Drift Showoff competition was good, but almost too little too late. The evaluation of the drifters seemed unorganized and somewhat random. It really seemed like nobody associated with the show really knew what was going on.

Mixed feelings i'm happy it's getting national exposure on ESPN2, but i'm not so sure this episode did our sport justice.

It really think they failed to capture the ture spirit of the DA. That's what I can't stand about hollywood. Those TV production guys can get out done by 14 year old kids with final cut pro..lmao
I am glad they have the power to get people on TV, but when you get there..try to capture some authenticity.
I guess that's why videos rule.
I know in TV you only have 22 minites for a half hour show.
So it's a challenge to capture anything real.
Otherwise I am stoked for the DA, they are blowing the f-UP!!!!!!!
