Hypothetically speaking, say this email was TRUE. Would you NOT GO to any future d1 events because Taniguchi, Orido, and Ueno wouldnt be there? I can understand if Taniguchi wasnt there that people would not go, but I do not know anyone that can say that Orido or Ueno are their favorites, and they would not support d1 if they were not there.

If this email was true, I can understand Keiichis standpoint. He has major power in D1, and that his drivers are trying to compete in another LEAGUE. That does not look good for business. Its like you work for McD's, and you go to Burger King for lunch in your uniform. Looks bad for business. Now people can argue that it is not competing against d1 in any way, but when it comes down to it..it is another drifting league. BTW,Are there any japanese drivers from d1 competing in formula d?

If 310's email is true, I would think that its messed up, however, I would still go to D1 events or any drifting event for the love of the sport, not the drivers.

Actually, orido is my favourite drifter, and has been since I first got into drifting, Ive loved the fact the he stopped judging and is driving again. I wont boycott d1, the politics have always been there, its a bunch of crap but oh well.

however, If Orido isnt going to be at the american touge 2, I will not be going, I only entered for the chance to have orido drive my car because I am an orido fan boy.

anybody who has ever dealt with him knows that keiichi can be an *Censored**Censored**Censored* about this stuff. So it honestly wouldnt surprise me.

what makes XDL different, orido and taniguchi have done tons of demos, taniguchi even drove a formula D demo...

A little insight into this matter.
I dont think it's wise to try and boycott an individual, since his appearance here is so rare that it'd be like trying to tell everyone to boycott Haleys Comet. Why waste your time would be most peoples mindset.
Just remember that if the gentleman in question did so under contract with D1, said that they wouldn't perform under another entity then they could face more then just a little banning, ya know? Remember Ueo disappearnace? Why cause he drove in another event. Tsuchiya may not be the ,"judge" but he may be the ,"Jury and Executioner" by his billet in the companies interest. So careful and not shoot the messenger. ask him if he's a bad guy first and then commence firing.....

Be wise and take the sports hisory into consideration before trying to get him on peoples bad sides. If it wasn't for him we might not even have drifitng in our town.

There's a lot more to that tiny man then some are giving him credit and if he has any financial interest in D1 then he's definitely gonna get involved. Hell, I would too!

If it is the case then Im'm sorry for the drivers in mind...

Those guys are actually coming to GCrallyX!!!

Yes, seriously - GCrallyX is the same weekend and having their final round of the GCrallyX Championship Series. See Ken Gushi has been secretly (not so secret) doing some rally trianing and told these guys how much fun him and his father have been having. (True statement - the part about those guys coming to GCrallyX, well let's just say we are having a little fun.) AND this is just the event that does just that; have fun, no politics, and is the history and basis of drifting as it trancended from the gravel to the touge in Japan... here is the USA, this is just SO-Cal GravelCrew Style! So if you want to come out and see something different and just as core to motorsports on the global level, then come out this saturday...

Tombstone Paint Ball Park, Corona, Ca.

THIS WILL BE THE LAST GCrallyX Event for 2005 and a final farewell to our beloved Tombstone Paintball Park – forever!
Yes, the Corona riverbed project is taking the land that Tombstone Paintball Park resides on. This is both a major blow for our rally community and the livelihood of our friend, Leon Styles with his paintball park. His passion for rally has allowed the GravelCrew three great years of refining our rally skills and one great GCrallyX competition season! This facility will surely be missed. Come celebrate and honor the last day of use of this facility as it has provided true rally obstacles and given true rally feel for our little rallycross world.

We look forward to seeing you out for some rallycross fun! ALL SPECTATORS ARE FREENINTYFREE! $45 for competition entry fee, a helmet and a technically sound vehicle and you are good to go! Yes, we do have a street tire class so bring it! The weather is changing and believe us when we tell you it gets cold, so come prepared; big coat, beanies, gloves – dress like you are going to the mountains. OK, at least dress your girlfriends as such. We are not scared - IF IT RAINS… YEA - WE RACE!

My inside source at D1 said that the three mentioned drivers will be at d1 and they will be driving. "Stop talking s#!t" was his exact quote. end of rumor.

                done.

                      Ditto.

About this rumor, I'm not getting my panties in a knot. D1 is fun, but politics add confusion.

I don't want to think about politics while sitting in the stands at Irwindale.

                          Updates

Well I just came back from the media day a short while ago so let me go ahead and clear some things up.

I didn't get there in time to personally ask Keiichi about the rumor BUT

ORIDO AND UENO WERE PRESENT! however TANIGUCHI WAS NOT

So I guess this rumor is partially true but perhaps it only applied to Taniguchi.

Ueno had his soarer and Orido intersingly enough was NOT driving the RS-R/RIDOX Supra but instead was driving a new car..I guess RS-R has a S15 now. I'll try to get up some pictures soon.

In other news Rhys royally thrashed his GTO during practice and is out for this event.

Also the megan racing car tagged the emergency truck and messed up its hood and fender.

Looks like this weekend is gonna be interesting

I hear Drift Buffet is working the track...and they don't even have flags! They should have NOT let another car go on the track with the safety truck out there. There is NO excuse for that incident.

Ah you are correct sir they had absolutely no flags whatsoever...instead they wave their arms like gilligan and the skiper did when they were trying to get off the lsland.

And the guy who was sending out the cars for their runs seriously had an anger management problem I wouldn't be surprized if he ended up getting into a throw down with one of the DA guys.

Does anyone know why drift buffet is working the track instead of Drift Day Assoc.??

RS-R has always had a S15, just to let you know.
