    My instructor has a blue top diesel in his 280z
    Umm.. well for one... Z's never had any color code engines... or blue tops or red tops or black tops like the SR20DET's.

    However, your instructor probably has an L28eD engine....
    (280Z's have L28E engines....)

    that "D" stands for diesal. Found in Early Maxima's.

    Every so often, people will swap in the L28eD engines.. from early Nissan Maxima's because they are a straight and simple swap. There really isn't much of a power gain.. and the gas is more expensive... but whatever floats his boat. And he probably painted the valve cover.. not probably.. he DID.

    Same engine.. same size... different injection and combustion methods.

      Why on earth would he go threw the time and money of a swap to a NA sr20, that must be one slow 240sx...

        what are you talking about diesel gas is like 30 cents cheaper and diesels get way better mileage too
