Casper “Da Ghost” Canul Reaches Top Eight on Cooper Tires
Casper Canul had his best pro drifting finish of the young season Saturday at Road Atlanta, reaching the top eight before losing to eventual winner Tanner Foust. Canul’s solid finish places him seventh overall with 118 points. Canul and fellow Cooper drifters Rob Fleming and Matt Vassallo slide on a mix of Cooper Zeon 2XS, Cooper Zeon ZPT and Cooper Zeon Sport A/S tires. Cooper Zeon tires provide the appropriate performance and handling capabilities needed to succeed in drifting.
After a relatively late start in drifting, Canul has made quite a name for himself in a short time. In his first year of professional competition he went head-to-head with drifting whiz kid Ken Gushi, won the Meguiar’s Cleanest Drift Award Medallion, and grabbed the third place trophy at the Formula Drift season opener at Wall Speedway in New Jersey. Earlier this year, he took part in the first ever drifting exhibition in Puerto Rico at the Carolina Speedway in San Juan.
