i don't see rod millen on the list kinda odd for someone who actually HAS championship points to not be entered... especially because he could potentially help Rhys (2 car teams are VERY common in drag racing for this purpose alone - hopefully, rod would go up against sam or tanner and knock them out)

Wow, Potatoes O'Brien is running? I hear he's awesome in that corolla.

For Rod to actually go up against Sam or Tanner, he'd have to know exactly how each judge's mind works and actually fine-tune his runs to achieve a specific score. Then, for Rod Millen to actually "knock out" Sam or Tanner, he'd have to have a lot more tandem experience than he actually has. Also, since Rhys and Rod aren't necessarily on the same team, it'd be more beneficial to Rod's sponsors for him to simply try to come out on top, rather than just help Rhys.

If, when you said "knock out," you meant actually crash and disable their cars, that would be both awesome and the most horrible thing to ever happen in Formula D.

          Shame on you.

                Hi left field, I'm SlapshotNerd

You're right, Rod and Rhys aren't on the same "team". However, they do share a few sponsors, namely their tire sponsor as well as the shop they hold together.

And I think Rod Millen is fully capable of going rounds in Formula D. he's only been in 2 competitions and he's qualified both times. I don't know of any other driver who has done that.

He's capable, but not at that level yet. If you've noticed, he hasn't actually ever won a tandem battle. He's a very capable drifter, but, being new to the sport, he doesn't have any tandem experience. Once he's spent more time practicing, I bet he'll be quite the contender, but at this point, he finds himself out-classed by much more experienced drivers.

Recently, he's been doing quite well in single runs, though. He certainly learns quick.

(Hate to say it, but i think he was given a free pass at his first D1 event simply due to his racing background.)
