    Honda reveals Element-D drift car

Honda at the SEMA auto show unveiled the Honda Element-D drift racecar. Built for the racing sport of drifting, the Honda Element-D racecar replaces the stock 4-cylinder/Real Time(TM) 4WD drivetrain with a custom-designed and longitudinally-mounted 3.2-liter Honda V6 and rear-wheel-drive.

Producing 500-horsepower, the lightweight twin-turbocharged powerhouse is guaranteed to light up the rear tires and accelerate sideways at full opposite lock. Associates from Honda R&D Americas, Inc., in Ohio plan to campaign the Element-D in the 2007 Formula Drift Series. [/i]

Well... it's orange. Thats all I'm going to say, but I am digging the side exhaust (which seems to disappear in the still photo's).

This is going to be interesting.

We have Honda joining the other factory teams (GM, Mopar/Dodge) in Formula D which is pretty big.

I wonder who the driver is going to be.

Pierre Kleinubing, who drove the RTR S2000 and the A'pex RX-7 this season, drives for Real Time Racing. Real Time Racing has a great relationship with Honda/Acura in the Speed World Challenge. (and is the current points leader in that series) The Speed World Challenge is sponsored by TOYO Tires. If I am not wrong, those are Toyo's on the Honda Element in these pictures.

Maybe I am reading too deep.
