Forrest has every oppertunity to get his licence the same way the rest of the entry list has. I dont remember seeing his petition for a licence? Maybe if he wants to compete at FD, he should contact them.

Tracy, As a driver everyone gets along with me. Its just when I'm a judge people dont like me. No one likes loosing, and at the end of the weekend there is only one winner. So everyone else is mad at something. Its usually me.

Id like to thank Wench for the nice ring I got for 3rd. That nopi trophy is kinda borring. Next time I expect to get a real x box. Not an aluminum x that says x box. It doesnt even have the date or the possition on it. I'll probably cut it up and use it for scrap peices in the shop.

i live in NJ, JR lives in MD... chris lives in cali, but spent his first 20 years here... tony (and hampsha) lives everywhere...

I know where you all come from. I also kow that JR lives over here (that's why I said MOST). So from what you are saying 1/2 of your crew lives in Cali. I can only assume that's because there was more opportunity to drive out there at the time. Either way, like I said....it's still my opinion and I don't feel like I was making excuses. Given a season or so some regular drivers on the "East Coast" will have the opportunity to thrive if the series goes well. If not, they may have to pack up to persue their "careers".

Its not an east coast, west coast thing, its an exposure thing. Most of the guys on the west coast now have been doing it longer, more exposure, more time means better drivers.

If you were out in Phoenix, it would have been pretty obvious. The east coast guys need a little more time in the cars to be more consistant. There were a few really good drivers, and others that just need a few good events under their belts to show their stuff.

It's like the first D1 event in the US. You see where the US guys were then,and you see where they are now. The exposure and oppurtunity wasn't there before then. More time, more exposure, more practice.

If you take a minute to look back on Formula D's first year or so, they weren't perfect and the drivers were no where near the quality they are today (D1 owned them for the most part. I guess you could compare FD to D1 back then like you can compare NOPI to FD now). Drifting is still growing overall. I'm happy to have the opportunity to drive competitively and have a platform to obtain sponsors so I can continue to hone my skills. I think it's an awesome opportunity that I may not have had if not for NOPI. I think a lot of the drivers you saw today will agree. NOPI brings fans and sponsors to the table. That pushes drivers to drive better under pressure (something a lot of them aren't used to). Also don't forget that drivers crash at almost every other pro event....with out safety being blamed as the issue. IMO, The tires are a good idea. I'd rather hit tires before the k-rail. They're a little softer smile.gif

I wouldn't worry about the flame suit smile.gif I totally hear what you are saying and where you are coming from (although I can't really speak for anyone else reading) In fact, I agree with you on a lot of it. I just want to be positive because I see the potential. But dude, if you don't say it....it doesn't change. So I say, it's good to hear the repsonse and criticism...good and bad. That just means things will grow.

honestly, cali you can legally drift on semi-baller venues every weekend if you wanted.

where the hell do you do that anywhere else?

florida has event ever couple of months
atlanta has one every couple weeks
dont know about further up north, but i know its a one or two a month deal.

and still in parking lots, yall have 80 configurations at willowsprings bla bla bla.

if you wanna drift cali is the place to get seat time, legally.

even on a street drifting perspective, yalls roads pwn.

but yah, if you can drive you can drive, but even the most skilled driver on earth will still get owned by a mediocre driver with 10 hours of seat time per week that has been campaigning the same car for 8 years. which if you live in cali, you have access to
