Motorsports Management International announces involvement in drifting
Charlotte, NC. (03/30/2007) - With over 50 years of being on the cutting edge of American auto racing, Motorsports Management International (MMI) announces its debut in the exploding youth auto sport of drifting.
Drifting caught the attention of MMI client manager Jacob Agajanian in 2006, when he was looking to put together a charity event prior to NASCAR’s weekend in California featuring MMI client and Kasey Kahne, a NASCAR superstar. With close relations to the Irwindale Speedway and his newfound interest in drifting, Agajanian decided to merge the two worlds of drifting and NASCAR for an exciting night, consisting of the country’s best NASCAR drivers alongside the world’s best drifters. The event was a huge success raising over $100 thousand for the Kasey Kahne Foundation and impressing fans, drivers, and MMI owner and principle Cary Agajanian.
“The enthusiasm that surrounds this sport is eye-opening,” said Cary Agajanian. “There is a passionate fan base and a great competitive spirit that attracts us to this sport. We as a company are certainly passionate about motorsports, so to take on the genre of drifting is a labor of love.”
MMI has hired Blair Stopnik, a former team manager for Rhys Millen Racing to oversee the drifting division and the newly signed client roster consisting of five of the nation’s top talents:
Samuel Hübinette, Formula Drift Champion in 2004 and 2006
Vaughn Gittin Jr., lead driver of Team Falken and founding Drift Alliance Member
Chris Forsberg, founding Drift Alliance Member
Tony Angelo, founding Drift Alliance Member
Ryan Tuerck, Drift Alliance Member
