Ive noticed a drop in drifting content in mags. A couple months ago, literally every mag had SOMETHING about drifting. Now its mainly Import Racer! doing drift articles.

Drift articals are becomming more common because drifting is becoming more common. A few months ago every magazne had drifting on the cover because a few months ago was the first american d1 ever.

remember the skateboard craze that turned into the institution it is today? Next we'll be seing show cars that say "drift spec" or some such nonsense all over them knowing full well that car hasn't so much as cranked since it was chromed. God I LOATHE over done show cars.

well a lot of my friends bought 240's and then sold them and went back to honda. a lot of people i talked to said they tried to drift but spun out and said they would never do it again. It takes a lot of paitence and practice to drift. and i think a lot of americans have that patience because they just want to learn it really fast and be the best the next day. Its not like drag racing.

none of the magazines have any fresh meat to do articles on because the people that actually drift, are keeping to themselves. They realize stupidity for what it is.

All the magazines write about the same old thing anyways.

this fad will die. only the dedicated will remain

every magazine does have the same thing "silvia procject issue 20: new sway bars drift specific" or some crap like that with a 5 page article of how tos and what is does.

I give Drifting about 1-2 years and it will be gone. Fast and Furious 3 will come out and Drifting will hit it's zenith about 4 montsh after that. then it will fade out slowly and be back to hardcore after that. So if you don't like Rice drifting then you'd better put a blindfold on when you go out.

As for not many 240's being made, I don't know what part of under the rockville you live in but they are everywhere. The production numbers are as follows.

                        89 - 68118
                        90 - 60582
                        91 - 34534
                        92 - 27033
                        93 - 21471
                        94 - 1167
                        95 - 25114
                        96 - 7334
                        97 - 3655
                        98 - 2178

That's a lot of them there cars.

The GTS is a little different. As for precise numbers, don't have those. But the deal with them is that they are usually on the bad side of town, usually owned by Mexicans (nothing derogative at all towards my Mexican brothers, they just know about them and like them) or they are behind someones house. Case in point. I got one this weekend. 85 coupe, panda grey and black, perfect body, very decent interior. Sitting on the wrong side of town at a garage facing a fence. The guy also has 2 hatches and an FX-16. You just have to look for them. They aren't just driving around. I know where about 5 of them are but I am in the process of getting them. My brother has 1 GTS and 2 SR5's. You just have to look. Put some effort into it and you will find em.

I got an idea...all "real" drifters and enthusiasts move to japan.

no drifters in the states= no mainstream drifting, McDonald ads, etc.

I wonder if drifters in other parts of the world are having this "rice" problem

i think that i dont really care if lots of ricer type people get into drifting....that way it will only look more impressive at a comp when us real drifters defeat like 70 ppl, rather than 10.......lol
