Maxxis Car Style
Our plan is to change away from the white vehicle we currently use, but we also chose the white due to its' name "Nissan Pikes Peak White" - it meant something. Upon our sponsorship with Maxxis Tires we looked to have the maxxis logo integrated into our blue/white scheme, but unfortuanately to obtain the contingency money (which is a big thing) we needed to run the full Maxxis logos size-color-shape on the vehicle to play by the rules. Hence, we tried to do what we could with the car. We have never asked this, but does our car come under the "lack of style" so many point too?
I do know that white vehicles are difficult to photo and to video so we are looking into some other ideas.... Don't be surprised to see a new look in pittsburgh.
PS - I do like Forrest's car and the S15 that was shown earlier. The problem with many japanese vehicles is that while they are a work of art, they take a long time to read/understand. Many Japanese drift cars have sponsor decals/placement that are absolutely impossible to read at speed or for the fans to identify with. Keep this in mind for the video coverage.
Take a look at the coverage by Power TV. Tell me how many sponsors you can read on each drift car - If the sponsors don't see their name - why would they provide product or money? For teams/driver's that have money regardless of sponsors they have the latitude of design to afford readability issues with graphics for the sake of style. We try to balance a bit of style with easily read decals for our sponsors.
Let us know what you think.
