IMO the perfect wheel and tire for drifting should be round.

Oh it helps to have a stiff sidewall too.

crappy tires in the back is not neccessarily good. Its good, if ur a newb and trying to learn. But you'll reach a limit real quick, you need decent tires in the back to control higher speed and also transitions, etc. Bigger wheels mean shorter sidewalls, which means better response. I recently changed from 15 to 17's in the rear and its so much easier to drift. better control, feedback, higher speed.
