    updated rules since 04 maybe?
anyway, the more and more i think about it, the more and more it seems like a bad idea. Gushi needs to jump back into a true to form drift platform. after all, it were the s13s he was slidin that got Rotora, and thats when he started getting some real recognition.

btw, what the hell ever happened to Ernie Fixmer?

      I dont like it.

I say redesign a corolla slap a RWD drivetrain on it and call it a day.

Guys, the Braille Auto Integra was allowed before the institution of the new rules regarding drivetrain. For a car to to be eligible to compete in FD, the vehicle must come RWD or AWD as a factory option. Where some of you might be getting confused in thinking that certain manufacturers do not make a RWD or AWD driver version, you need only to look outside of of the US.

So what FD is saying is that in some country somewhere there is an AWD version of the Tc. Yay

I agree with Robbystyle: Ken Gushi needs to get back into a proven platform. The last thing he needs right now is another development year. He'll have had 3 of those in the last 4 years. Seems hard to be successful?

Ernie is working for Kaizen Motorsports and is driving for Kure Intl

i think its cool that Ken is signing with RSR/Scion but with the afformentioned rules it would mean that hes pretty much out of FD for the 08 season, but what if hes considering going to another series?

either way this is pretty cool and its good to see a "japanese" company jump into the mix of factory backed drivers/cars

What do you mean by this? Although not widely known or advertised as such, I can think of two other "Japanese" manufacturers currently supporting Factory backed drivers. Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Dodge and GM all have the same types of programs currently. The support comes from the Performance or Racing department not the manufacturer directly. Toyota is a laaaaaate entry.

For example, Ford = Ford Racing, Mazda = MazdaSpeed, GM = GM Performance, Dodge = Mopar and so on.

My guess is that the Scion effort will be TRD supported and branded.

i honestly cant see the reasoning to go outside of formula d. at least on gushi's behalf. as involved and as popular as ken is in the american series makes me wonder why he would dip out in its 5th year and explore another series strictly because of an offer by scion in an undeveloped car.

im not calling you out, just trying to find some answers because im just that curious.

and no matter how hard i search, i cant find ANY info on ANY scion tc without fwd. all rwd tc's are drag cars. im lost.

HEY FORMULA D! give us some hints...

                      Taken from the FD rulebook:

The reason the RWD integra was allowed due to the AWD Integra being a production vehicle in Japan. However, in 2005 the rule book clarified the mission statement of FD which is intended to promote vehicles that come from a manufacturer in the US with the full platform for RWD power. Hence vehicles like the Subaru Impreza and the Evo are used.

And you are right the RWD integra was not extremely competitive and most of that had to do with the configuration and the lack of experience of the driver in the sport of drifting at that time.
