Wall Stadium in Trouble

This is quite relevant to Formula Drift, as Wall has become their showcase East Coast event, and Wall Stadium's pre-existing staff has said emphatically that the drifters really paid the bills at the historic 1/2mile.

However, according to many East Coast circle track guys including esteemed periodical Area Auto Racing News (AARN) Wall Stadium has been sold to developers and in likelihood is to be shutdown before the 2008 season, in preparation for demolition.

Its a good thing you started posting here again or we probably wouldn't know about something like this until way later.

This sucks.

But if Formula D has a contract to hold an event there wouldn't that mean that the new owners are bound and would have to keep the track open until all scheduled 08 events are done before they can demolish the place?

I'm just taking a shot in the dark here going off the lil bit of business law education that I have.

We will definitely look into it more but from our conversations with the track manager and owner this morning, this is not the case. We have actually been hearing these types of rumors since the first year we have been going there. I have heard that sometime potential buyers of this track or any track would release information like this to media outlets to leverage their negotiating. But either way, we will look into it more and have a "plan B" ready.

wow man that sucks I always have been trying to catch an event there but some thing would come up preventing me to go but hopefully they won't tear it down. And if they couldn't hold it there could maybe bring the event to Englishtown Raceway NJ, which isn't that far. Maybe that's plan b ??

THAT'S WHACK! you need tracks like wall to have organized events. people think i'm playin when i say there ain't nowhere in jersey to practice ANY type of motorcross. to my knowledge, there's only englishtown and wall stadium. both raceways aren't even open all year, and when they are open, it's crowded sometimes. they don't have drifting every night either. this is pretty f*kin whack yo! now, if it isn't englishtown, you have to drive to PA to race. at least the ride there on 78 is nice! =~)
