Hachiroku, I was talking about the public majority and not the AutoX minority. Regardless of what they think, the majority is who a manufacturer is going to cater to. They're the people putting big numbers down for sales. I doubt the American majority would want to drive a car called a Fairlady.

Cause car companies don't care about enthusiasts. They only care about volume so that means selling SUV's and pickups and staying away from low-volume sports cars that don't appeal to everybody. They can't sell sports cars to a majority of women, who are the largest group of car buyers, and even the car guys can't afford a sports car that can't haul the family. Plus most people need 4wd to get 'em through winter. It's the classic "I had to sell the Mustang to buy a station wagon" deal.

Just my opinion but i think all companies of the world sell the highest quality stuff to there own population and try to give there customers the best possible enjoyment from there product while in the USA they are only looking to make money.

It is worth noting that most of the time high-performance vehicles are only released to get people into dealers to sell mainstream products like vans or economy cars. For example, Type R's and NSX's get people in the dealership to by Oddyseys and CR-V's.Originally posted by MrodDrft

Remeber Japan doesn't also get world-renowned, competition tested vehicles like Vipers, Corvettes or Ford GT's.
Generally hi-performance vehicles aren't released overseas (with the exception of the EVO and STi and GTO) due to the cost it is to ship them.

The reason why the sales on the S14 were not so good is probably because they didnt offer the SR20det as an option. The japanese S14s had srs and they sold great. Nissan pisses me off, we never got s13 silvias, our 180sxs (240sx hatches) never had ca18dets or sr20dets, we never got s15s, no skylines, what the hell. Nissan makes some of the best turbo motors in the world and some of the best chassis to house them, and we rarely get a glimpse of any of these things in the USA. Thank God we got the 350Z at least.

I think that the americans are to obsess with names. Like the fairlady. Probably the americans will said, "ugh that's an ugly name lets find an better name for this car."
