So what did you guys think of the Live Coverage of round 3 in E-town Formula Drift? Well for starters I really think they still need to work out the glitches especially the sound. I can understand it can be really difficult to make a live feedback through the internet especially if a lot of people are watching, but on the Formula Drift website it wasn't even working complety. It was working fine until after the open ceromony of the top 16 drivers, then it stopped working. Luckily they had a chat link you could click on to chat with other people, and somebody fortunately posted a link to another website that also had live coverage and it worked to some extent. So what do you think. Should Formula Drift continue doing the live feed back for the rest of the season and work on it during the off-season, or continue with it, with all the problems they had with it today? Like I said though, I understand it can be difficult doing something like this but, it really got rediculous today. Yesterday though, when they were showing the live feedback of all the practice runs it was perfect. Sound quality was good and video feed back was suprisingly better than I expected.

the concept is great but they need to find another live feed site to host the content or find a way to get the content running on more servers
wonder if there is a way to play or download the video after a few hours

Yea true, that was kind of what I was trying to say. The idea of that is really good, it gives us a chance for the people who dont have the time nor the chance to go to the events something to look at instead waiting until october to see the coverage on the speed channel. Hopefully, if they continue to do this, they'll think of a way to make it work before round 4 so this won't happen again. It was quite frustrating at times.

This was tested partially in Atlanta, and was more widely publicized this time around via the Formula D blog. The host they started using on Friday and Saturday morning wasn't up to speed and kept cutting out, so it was switched to the host which was used in Atlanta. Although that host was better, I don't quite think it will be used in the future. So the search for the proper host continues.
I think providing live video for practice and qualifying, and live audio for the top 16 is a great way to keep fans who are unable to travel with the series involved with the event. Also, several outlets post updates with behind the scenes info, interviews, results, etc for those who just want to cut to the chase or recap what has happened. Although I attend nearly every Formula D event, there are occasionally a few that I miss, and I like to keep informed of what is happening at the events.
