  • Hubinette, Forsberg, Mohan, McQuarrie Are Upcoming Guests on The Inside Drift

The Inside Drift Announces Drift Heavyweights:
Hubinette(s), McQuarrie, Forsberg, and Mohan as Guests

CKMedia Associates, LLC, producers of The Inside Drift, the only radio talk show in the world dedicated entirely to the professional drift racing scene has announced the guest line-up for its second month on the air beginning February 14. It’s a stellar lineup sure to entice drift fans to tune into the program on the Internet each Saturday at 10:00am PST (1:00pm EST).
The group includes a husband and wife team, one of the sport’s most popular and innovative driver/builders, the man who has drifted the only car in the Formula Drift series without a driveshaft, and one of the leading young privateers around.

    February 14: Samuel& Stina Hubinette

It is appropriate that on Valentine’s Day The Inside Drift welcomes the husband and wife duo of Samuel and Stina Hubinette for a visit. Samuel, aka: “The Crazy Swede” is the two-time Formula Drift Champion and the winningest driver in the series over its first five years driving the V-10 powered Mopar/BF Goodrich Dodge Viper. Alongside samuel will be his wife, Stina who is pursuing her own racing career in the NASA sports sedan series aiming at Time Attack, and to follow Samuel into the world of extreme driving in Hollywood feature films and television.
Samuel will introduce a new Dodge Challenger, under MOPAR and BF Goodrich colors to the Formula Drift series in search of his third Championship in 2009.

    February 21: Chris Forsberg

Chris Forsberg is as well known as a builder as he is a driver. A transplant from the Jersey shore to southern California, he now runs his own team and the Nissan 350Z roadster powered by a Nissan Titan truck V-8 he designed and introduced in 2006 with his engineer and crew chief, Kevin Wells.
In 2007 he finished second to Tanner Foust in the Formula Drift championship, winning at Road Atlanta and Infineon Raceway.
Forsberg is one of the most popular drivers in the series and has a huge grass roots following who appreciate that, as a privateer (car owner/builder/driver) he is able to compete with the factory backed efforts Samuel Hubinette (Mopar), Rhys Millen (GM/Pontiac) and his best friend and Drift Alliance brother, Vaughn Gittin Jr (Ford Racing).

    February 28: Kyle Mohan

In a series that is dominated by factory backed and highly funded teams, its not easy for a “privateer”, a team that operates mostly out of pocket, to keep up. But Kyle Mohan and his team, which is to say his Dad, Joe Mohan, and a few helpers, have demonstrated their ability to compete head-to-head against the best teams, crack the top 16 at Formula Drift events, and qualify for last November’s Red Bull World Championship of Drift.
Driving a well worn, but very potent Mazda RX-7 FC, Kyle just missed the podium at the 2008 season-opener at Long Beach in 2008, even though he broke an axel in the third round. But the RX-7 performed brilliantly during the season and that is at least partly because the team’s chief mechanic and crew chief is Kyle himself, who hand builds the motors and tunes the car’s suspension.
In 2009, Mohan will shelve the FC in favor of a new Mazda RX8.

    March 7: Tyler McQuarrie

One of the most accomplished pure racers in the Formula Drift professional drift series, Tyler McQuarrie is headed for a new car and team in 2009. For two years he has been behind the wheel of the “Drift Panzer”, a GT-2 Porsche, a former IMSA race car converted for drifting by the JIC Magic team. When McQuarrie and JIC announced at SEMA in 2006 they would bring a rear engined, rear wheel drive Porsche to the series, eyebrows were raised.
The car, with McQuarrie, a long-time Porsche sports car racing specialist, showed moments of brilliance on the track, including a second place finish at Englishtown, New Jersey in 2008, but failed the test of reliability, actually competing in just three of seven rounds last year.
McQuarrie left the JIC Magic team at the end of the 2008 season but was quickly snatched up by Team Falken Tires, the most formidable team in pro drifting, to drive a brand new Nissan 350Z roadster.
Yes, it’s yet another new car. But at least this time all the motor and driveline pieces are in their appropriate places.

You guys need to fix your call-in system. The callers can hear you, but you can't hear the callers.

When you listen to the program after the fact, you have to crank up the volume, but the callers are clearly talking and not 'serenading' you.

Why is your show so broken?
