Congrats to the Drift Alliance Team for winning the Team Drift event at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach this past weekend. The team consisted of Chris Forsberg, Justin Pawlak, and John Russakoff.

Chris Forsberg and Team Drift Alliance Take the Formula Drift Team Title in Long Beach

The NOS Energy Drink Drift Team participated in the Formula Drift Team Event on the Streets of Long Beach, CA this last weekend, April 17th – 19th. The event took place on the world famous Long Beach Grand Prix road course in front of record crowds. The Grand Prix marked the return of Indy Car to the historic race, but the drift cars stole the show as they were scheduled right before the main event to excite the crowd.

NOS Energy Drink driver, Chris Forsberg, teamed up with Drift Alliance Ace Justin Pawlak and John Russakoff to complete the required 3 car drift team they called Team Drift Alliance.

The team ran flawlessly throughout practice and qualifying, earning them the number 1 qualifier position for Sunday’s main event.

“We were very confident in our team going into the main event on Sunday,” stated Forsberg. “Our Maxxis Tires were holding up very well considering our extremely long runs. Justin and I have run a lot together and John is a very talented driver, so I knew we had a great shot at bringing home the win.”

Sunday’s main event went just as planned. The team put on a great show and brought home the win defeating other top championship winning driver/teams.

The NOS Energy Drink Street Team was in full effect all weekend energizing fans with cold NOS and showing off Forsberg’s Formula Drift competition car in the main display hall. Forsberg was on hand during the weekend signing autographs and taking pictures with excited fans.

“The entire weekend was a huge success for both Team Drift Alliance and for NOS Energy Drink,” said Forsberg. “It’s always tons of fun running with Justin and John and the win give us good momentum going into round 2 of Formula Drift. We had a great response from new and long time fans of drifting and the NOS Street Team recruited lots of new NOS drinkers.”

The next event for the NOS Energy Drink Drift Team is round 2 of the Formula Drift Pro Championship on May 9th and 10th in Atlanta, GA.
