      Reviews;

      "EA's Need for Speed franchise has had its up and downs. Unfortunately, the past few years has been one of those "down" bits, with the last couple games doing nothing to advance the series in any way that you would call good. So, something had to be done, and EA decided to hand off the reins to Slightly Mad Studios, the folks behind the PC racing series GTR, to create Need for Speed Shift. So did the changing of the guard pay off?
      Oh, yes it did, and in a huge way. "

      "Need For Speed: Shift At the end of my Need for Speed: Undercover review from last year, I posed a question: "Why does a racing game need to be something other than a racing game?" I doubt EA read the review but they apparently asked themselves the same question. In making Need for Speed: Shift, Slightly Mad Studios tossed aside all of the clumsy action game/movie elements that mucked up previous installments and focused on making a pure racer. The result is a game enjoyable to hardcore and casual racing fans alike."

          I bought it at lunch. Ill let you know how it is, It will be tough to beat grid for a drifting game. Also Forza 3 is out next month and I am sure it will be amazing!

            Q&A with Vaughn Gittin Jr. about his role in helping shape the driving dynamics in the latest Speed chapter.

              Played it some tonight. It's def. The best need for speed. I havnt unlocked drifting yet so I can't comment oN that. It's not a sim but it's better then any other arcade style i've played.

                  DiRt2 is really fun you made a great choice there. Need For Speed Shift is good but dont expect to much from it cause you might get disappointed.

                      Dirt2 is awesome! I'm debating on NFS:Shift. Haven't liked the last few since Underground.

                        Hands down Dirt 2 is way better than the first one. I find it so realistic than any other game. Once I get payed ill buy NFS: Shift!!! Has anybody drifted yet in Shift?

                          you can go straight to the drifting events in quick race. You don't have to unlock it.

                          Here's a quick video I made. This is only from 1 or 2hours of playing. I had better sessions but didn't record it. Drifting is alright, nothing revolutionary or anything. The "basic" concept of drifting is there. I only did the first stages of tuning on the car.

                            drift mode in that game is awful. It's so irritating trying to get the handling down. They should go back and use the physics in the Underground 1 and 2 games.

                            if you want a game with fun drifting physics, play GRID.
