5 judges would be interesting... if they went to something like this I think they should do what Slapshot mentioned and keep the judges behind closed doors. If anything make one judge the announcer and have the other position float.

I think 5 judges is too much hassle, unless you drop the highest and lowest like the Olympics. 3 judges is fine, I agree with the general concept that they should be separated from each other and give their score within 10 seconds of the end of the run*



*except in cases where contact or off-course penalties occur and replay is required.
