  • Ps2

This is just a question, but can a japanese PS2 be pluged in and used in the US, or do you need some kind of a special convertor because i want to get the special stage intial D game and all i can find is the asian region version.

A JDM PS2 will work with US outlets and US TVs, no problems. However, you will need a different memory card, and it obviously will only play JDM games.

The reason you can only find the asia region Initial D is because it is the only version available.

well you need the slide card and the swap magic disk. you put in the swap disk. then it'll say "Insert Disc" then you use the slide card to pull out the disc tray. Put your import game in. push the tray back in. Lock it into place w/ the slide car. Hit "X" and your import game will play. And all you have to do to the PS2 is remove the front of the disc drive. It's pretty sweet.

Alright,I'll help you guys out, even you Blitz.First off, there is more than the Asian region game.

                    http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...l%2BStage.html

$34,plays in Japanese systems. As for European systems, you'll need two things to make it work.First off all,UK PS2's run on 210 volts,so you'll need a step down transformer that will bring it down to 110 volts,or you'll fry your PS2(this goes for all electronics from North America).Check your local electronics shop. The second thing you need is a PAL to NTSC converter, that'll run you fifty pounds.

                    http://www.threedoubleyou.com/converters.htm

It's on this site. After you have both of those covered, you can play a Japanese PS2 in the UK without frying it,and with color(besides the black and white+ borders you'd get trying to run the NTSC signal trhough a PAL unit.).
