not surprising. BFG didn't want to keep paying the tire bounty just to have 1 driver on their tire (especially with his teammate on another tire company!), and Dodge Motorsports would rather him doing off-road stuff (which is why he missed 2 rounds last season). America's Tire / Discount Tire won the championship with a different driver, why bother paying Sam?

that sucks, he was always a tough competitor, but lately his cars are not up to the task of drifting. Did he ever have a "no major issue" weekend last season?
