I think thats the most rookies starting at Long Beach ever. Qualifying is going to be interesting to say the least. Hopfully they can keep it together and put down some good runs.

I feel bad for drivers who are stuck in the lower seed practice group. They'll probably only get 2, maybe 3 passes before qualifying. With the higher seed group, drivers will be more likely to practice in tandem (granted spaced out tandem, but at least 2 cars on course at a time). In the past, there's always 1 or 2 rookies who crash and take 20 minutes to clear the track. I think practice is usually only an hour or so per group.

Your absolutly right. I've seen that happen before. Odds are against the Rookies, but their talent will show no matter what happens if they can pull off some decent scoring runs without wrecking. I am very excited to see out if all the rookies who will push into the top 32. Its hard to think of Daigo as a rookie, but he is classified as one for this season. I think Daigo, George M, Chelsey D, and Castro will pull through. As we all know though, anything can happen in an FD event so its always hard to predict anything. If anything, the new Tarmac will help out the rookies from overshooting the first corner. Several have lost it coming in too hot over the years.

Hell yeah, Enrique Mendoza has been killing it in the I.E. for eons.

Don't be surprised if he ruins someones weekend.
